I'm starting to hate the seats on mine as well, and it's starting to squeak sometimes too. And the fact that it does not have enough bolster just makes me sad.

I bet a racing seat will be better than the oem one.

I loved the seats on my EP3.

But in my GD3, I have to stop and get out and stretch after a 1-2 hrs of driving.

I'm not surprised, out of all the cars I've owned, the Fit is the only car with seats that has ever annoyed me on long trips that is.

I had a 2009 Sport and had to sell it because of how incredibly uncomfortable it was. I am 5'10" 160lbs.

I had the seat slid back to give leg room and washers under the front for support. I of course then had to have the seat back upright to reach the steering wheel (it only extends an inch). The headrest pushed my head down so that I was looking directly at the speedometer (which I could not see the top portion of). So, I replaced the front headrests with the back ones. Finally, I added the spring mod to the throttle. I sometimes would add lumbar and neck support. I even tried thigh support which was wonderful. Eventually I would have welded an extension on the steering column, but I decided to sell the car before I made any permanent changes.

It was in this configuration that I could drive for about 20 minutes without severe back pain. If I drove longer than that I would be sore for the rest of the day. Before I made those modifications, the pain would be unbearable and would keep me up at night.

I now own a New Beetle. It lacks almost everything that I wanted that I had in my Fit. But, by comparison, driving the Beetle feels like floating on air. I will probably not be buying a Honda again.

Don't make the mistake of attributing the seat design to the carmaker. They specify a seat and it's designed and produced by a supplier (and presumably, sat in at least once by the Fit design team before they order millions!) Granted, clearly you should not buy another Honda with the same seat, but you should also realize that a Civic or Accord or 2017 Fit could have a different supplier and even within the supplier, a different design.

And don't worry, you'll find plenty of things wrong with your VW ... trust me ...

I completed a 6 hour road trip to and from New Orleans last week. No issues at all.Last year I travelled 15 hours straight with only 2 stops for gas and stretching. Again, no issue.
