man this stuff is confuessing.. 08 fit

hey dudes and duddettes, I just bought an 08 fit sport 5spd with 21xxx miles on it and it is dark silver in color. And boy will i say.... I hate this thing. ha, just kidding. My previous car was a 05 gpw s2000 and before that i owned a 335i. either way i look forward to the mpg's of the fit since i drive too much and will eventually buy a second car when the right deal pops up.

on a serious note tho, all this GE GD xQ stuff is confusing me. The i see 01-08 GD and 08-present GE and mines is an 08 so where do i fall. I have searched for the past couple days but i keep finding myself in the classifieds looking for parts =]

if anyone can brief me via a post or in pm that would be great. Just a quick list of what to do's and not to do's, thing sto pay attention to, better option for coils, etc. thanks again.

also, look forward to hanging out here.
cheers.

so from the pattern of things i am seeing. Im guessing GD3.

scrummaged through the clasifieds, vendor and personal and i noticed the main activity from vendors is in the general one not the specific to company. looking forward to coils and tires soon.

You have a GD. For the USDM, GD is 01-08 and GE is 09-Present. I'm surprised no one cleared that up for you already.

What Jamy said. The USDM it's 07-08 GD and 09+ GE. I belive in Japan they switched to the GE in 08. Thats why the confusion.

Congrats, sounds like a good buy with low miles.

And to add to Jamy and MNfit's posts, there's no such thing as "brief" and "quick list". Both are relative terms dependent on personal preferences, personalities, pocket book, etc. You'll find that out the longer you "hang out" here...

Here's a thread that might help you get started:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...fit-lingo.html

And when you do "hang out" here long enough, You'll find yourself here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...ml#post1024895

Enjoy your new addition... and you've been warned...

Hmm nice low miles. May i ask why did you get rid of the S2K? I also had an S2000 CR though. I got rid of it due to needing more room for the dog and wife. My dog kept throwing up in the CR. I should have kept it and just got the Fit for the wife back than, this was about 2 years or so ago. Now I drive a 06 XB

My friend crashed my s2000 2 months ago, so it wasn't by choice. I am still looking for another.

GD = 07/08 Fit.
For coilovers it depends on your budget. I'd buy Fit4Trav's HKS if I were in the market for coilovers and not selling everything I have. Or I'd buy my Tein springs.

Wheels, 15x7 +35 with a 195/50 is nice sizing.

IDK about short shifters, I don't like them.

For coils T1R are great and you can get them through AJR. They are a good company that also does S2Ks. Man sorry to hear that it got crashed. So you are going to use the Fit as a DD once you get another S2K. I really want one but I need more room now.

Wow for someone who cries everytime they think people are misinforming others you certainly stepped in it. Tein springs wtf sort of recomendation is that. Not a single thing in spec on that wheel suggestion. Op do your own research and when you find what's best for you you'll know. As none of us know what you want short/long term your level of income or desire to fit in

Please tell me how I'm misinforming him?

If he doesn't want to rub all over the place he'll get 195/50.

I would rather have some cheap ass springs than POS Taiwan coilovers (Buddy Club/KSport/Megan/D2/etc. or low level Tein coilovers).

Id recommend 195/50 as well it serves every bit of purpose as stepping up a size. Which you have openly sided against. Perhaps give insight ie. 195/50 is a good size due to availability in quality brands, relativly cheap, weigh less to improve acceleration, stock width for mpgs.... harsher ride due to smaller stiffer sidewalls would be the downside. As far as buddyclub being taiwanese mike your right I'm wrong. Those bastards probably just stamp japan on things to sell us dumb consumers. Right? So should I really answer how your poisoned opinions are misinforming?

I have a base and 195/50 is closer to the 175/65/14 in height than a 195/55.

Where do they stamp these things on? BTW, Buddy Club was once a very reputable brand, but I wouldn't buy anything they've made since being taken under new ownership/relocation. I just looked through as many pics of N+ as I could find and nowhere do I see a "Made in Japan" stamp or even a sticker.

When have I said that? Enkei is a very reputable brand for very cheap.

I'm glad that in such a short time you've been able to become an expert on me as well as come to the conclusion that I have an alter ego (I'd love to hear more about this ). Now feel free to go back to the hole you came from.

I don't feel any desire to take off a tire for pics but sir I assure you that one the body itself it says japan as wellas a hologram buddyclub japan. Springs also. Perhaps you've been misinformed. So yea again with the tire size you've proven me wrong. Honda engineers are dumb. Ps 15x7 so the size honda used for the alloy 15x6.5 is relavant not what's on your base. Your opinion and you hate your fit soooi
