Are you referring to the dead pedal?

I don't have a pic, but I know exactly what you're talking about.

What about it?

id have to go out and look at my car but is he talking about like a rubber mate that is right about where the drivers heels would rest? If that is what he is talking about its there to minimize wear, if it was carpet there a hole would be worn into it in no time.

if carpet was there you would end up wearing a whole into the carpet from the heel of your foot so its just to help prevent that

wouldn't think so- it is not large enough-- just meant to reinforce a car mat.

99.9% No. It is too small an area to catch debris that you bring in from your shoes, and even if it did, you wouldn't be able to take it out of the car and shake said debris off of it.

The 0.01% are the sort of neat freak people that takes off their shoes before they enter their car.

^^^^ lmao. I can't keep up with these meme faces. Speaking of the .01%, I am one of the suckers that got a Mugen floormat, and for that I almost want to demand my passengers to take off their shoes for.

It is designed to provide additional protection to the carpeting. Even with a floormat the area where your heals touch still gets a lot of slight movement and rubbing. Over time this can flatten, wear, and even tear the carpet underneath the floormat.

I have the Honda rubber mats in mine and all of my cars except my Camaro since it doesn't see rain or snow.

I could germinate seeds on the drivers side carpet.. All I need is a spray bottle of water and some good seeds.
