busted OE sport foglight replacement.

so my wife has had her 08 sport since dec. 07. one of her foglights was busted some time ago. recently had it into honda for oil change (it's cheaper with the coupons the dealer gives otherwise i'd do it myself) and it is due for inspection soon. they said they did a "pre inspection" for free and that i needed to get the one light replaced. they quoted me $280 for the part... really??

so to ebay i went and purchased these:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

along with some laminex film. sadly the lights do not fit into the OE housings, so now the housings are flat black instead of purple. but they wire correctly and do not need any holes drilled as the housing fits just like OE. screw you honda. for $75 i have two new lights and some fancy protective film.. the only "major" issue is that the wires are a little tight to plug in, but they seem to be OK once plugged in.

just wanted to put these out here for anyone else. not affiliated with the ebay seller in any way whatsoever. i will get pics later. i installed them last night when it was dark out..

Interesting - will the light units swap at all between the bezels or no-go? Would be great to keep the body-colored surrounds if possible. Didn't occur to me that I'd have to get the whole thing if the lens was nuked. I found one of mine broken about 6 months ago and need to replace it. This might be a good option, but keeping the BBP surrounds would be best...

Thanks for the link!

I've got a drivers side (I think) fog light that is an OEM replacement from where our Fit had a broken one if anyone needs any part or parts of it. I also have all of the wiring and switch.

sadly the bezels will not switch without modification. due to the fact that our car is due for inspection THIS MONTH i just wanted to get them in. i may pull them back out and fiddle with them, but black on the BBP paint is hardly noticeable.
