If people can't tell the difference between a spark plug and a nose plug, that's a pretty good argument for having technology to monitor tire pressure for them.

I check my tire pressure regularly but last year I had a slow leak from a nail in my tire and the TPMS caught it before I did.

I'm sure that having a lot of cars on the road with TPMS saves fuel and probably slightly reduces accidents.

Then we might as well be forced by our concerned government to get speed limiters on our engines, no-blow tires, breathalizer ignition switches, open seatbelt kill switches, and traffic cameras at every intersection. It will definitely improve on safety to be guided by a higher order of power.

Yes, we can take anything to the extremes to make an example. On the other side, how about we eliminate all regulation and let the car companies sell cars that explode from low-speed impacts?

I, personally, would rather have $600 more airbag equipment than $600 of air pressure sensors.

Well, $600 is probably a rather high estimation for a car that costs maybe $16,000.

Would I rather have the airbags in MY car? Sure. But for the guy who might get a flat and crash into me? I care about his tires, not his airbags.

And every bit of fuel saved by someone else helps all of us, in regard to fuel prices.

Yeah, by 'lazy' you mean the 100% of the population that doesn't check the tire pressure before every trip? And during every trip? And continuously while you drive?

Really? Help in fuel prices please explain? There is no shortage of fuel...... we can argue that all day long.

Shortage? No. But supply-and-demand still applies. The less fuel demanded, the lower the price.
