Servicing caliper pins

Servicing caliper pins
I took the brakes apart and found out that the caliper pins now are pretty much separate from the bolts that hold them in place. They seem well protected by the boot and seem like a good design. Has anyone tried to take them out and grease them?

Actually, you should be removing and re-lubricating the slider pins periodically.
The front calipers are less critical than the rears (the Fit doesn't have rear disc brakes, so nevermind).
But, when you replace pads, you should be doing the lubrication thing on the slider pins.
Honda pads come with grease for the job, Molube 77, a high temp grease. But most auto parts stores sell a synthetic grease made for the same application. Brake Caliper Grease is usually a synthetic that will keep lubricating under the high-temp conditions that brake components see.
Be sure not to mix-up the pins when you remove them....the top and bottom pins are different.
