Misfires without CEL/Codes

Misfires without CEL/Codes
I've had the '07 in to the dealer twice for 'hesitation.' The first time they upgraded the ECM software. The second time they actually agreed that there is a coil pack issue. however, they say that they can't identify the cylinder(s) because it's not throwing codes.
I think I remember from some of the posts that it is possible to monitor while running, and collect the misfire codes. Is that true? How is it done? Is it something I can do myself with a scanner, or is it a dealership/shop project?
If I can get this done on goodwill by Honda, that would be great. But if I'm going to be back and forth to town multiple times until this finally gets run to ground, I'm just going to have to di it myself.
Thanks.

Yes omg is anyone else having the same issues? My 5spd 07 fit had this problem for 40,000km now. Especially in 4th gear adding a bit extra gas ~2000rpm. I just shift at a higher point and hope it doesn't worsen.
My local Honda dealer said the same thing about the ecm software (but don't think they flashed my ecu)
Did the ecu flash do anything at all?
Best of luck I'll be back if I find anything useful hopefully
