2005 Honda Jazz - RPM goes up and down at constant speed

Hi everyone,

My father has a 2005 Honda Jazz CVT 1.4 and it has developed a new problem. As of recent, whenever driving at a constant speed the rpm will shoot up about 200 to 400 rpm and then will go back down to the level it was add. It will do this every 5 seconds until you either let go of the gas or start accelerating. It seems to do it when the speed is 80KM/h or above.

Does anyone know if a similar problem and what might solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Hm maybe a vacuum leak maybe? Not really sure how to tell you to check for it. You just have to have the vacuum lines looked at and see if there is any cracks or leaks. They won't be leaking anything though. It only does it when driving not at idle?
