Retrofit Assistance Needed
I'm pretty much done but I can't get my highbeams to work. I checked the solenoid with a 9v and it seems to work fine but it doesn't work when plugged into the wire harness supplied by TRS. And when I turn the lights on, the highbeam indicator turns on and stays on. When the lights are off and I pull the lever to activate the highbeams, the lights come on but no highbeams.
Please help me rectify this predicament I am in.

First off where did you get your H4 harness TRS? If so it should work perfectly. But sometimes you have to must swap two wires on the H4 harness. Our cars are negatively switched if memory serves me correctly. That means on the H4 there is one + and two -. I forget which ones is +. But it shouldn't be that hard to find if you have a test light.

Have you tried checking the input signal that activates the solenoid? and out?
Then have you checked to see that the power signals for the lights are getting to the solenoid? And out? (that could be a ground issue so use resistance scale to verify the separated ground side is grounded to the chassis.).
One of the two isn't present. Then you'll know what line to trace; either no power signal or no ground. Please note that both the solenoidpower circuir and the lights power circuits have both power and ground ends.
good luck.
PS you got a 9v to work a 12v or 5v solenoid? sorry don't remember the solenoid active circuit power level, cpould be either.If you used a 9v dc power to check a 5v transistor solenoid it may have burned the coil.

I haven't figured out the issue but I think danger69 may be on to something. I just got done moving and my tools are in storage and will be for an entire month so I'll have to do without.
Here's what I've got:

I figured out what the issue was. On the H4 plug from the vehicle, there are three plugs. The top plug is Low-beam, the right plug is High-beam and the left plug is the ground. Apparently the harness I purchased from TRS was wired wrong. I had to rotate the pins on the male connecter counter-clockwise to match the H4 pinout.
White=Low-beam
Blue=High-beam
Brown=Ground
All's well. Thanks to all the input to narrow this problem down.
