Anyone have any good way to fix the stock radio's reception? It's the worst I've ever known and I used to own a 77 oldsmobile which was much better..

It fuzzes out under overpasses in the middle of the city, around trees, and never seems to keep a strong signal. Could the antenna have been broken and the previous owner just plopped a piece of plastic up there? I've checked and it seems legit.

I don't want to have to rip this mutha out since it seems to be built in like all of them are now (for some ungodly reason) but am at my wits end. Slap aluminum foil around the antenna?

 

Same issue here, but i guess the Fit didn't come with a good antenna?
On my Integra, i deleted my external antenna, and just put an aftermarket one under my roof behind my headliner. And the reception is just about as bad as the Fit lol...

 

yeah, either the antenna is bad or the radio just sucks more than most stock do.

i'm hoping there's a longer antenna or something.

 

Without a 2ft antennae yur out of luck, which will make yur ride look like an R.C. toy car....Aftermarket head-unit time!!

 

I got a long antenna and it helped a lot. it's for the Vdubs
It's so long I use it for fish'n lol.
I actually got it for the wing cuz it very flexible.
I like my OEM stereo it just needs a bit more bass

 

That can't be at all true. my wife's corolla has the same tiny antenna but the radio works just fine.


where did you get the longer antenna? online or do antennas all fit every car?

come on, there are so many things that is made from china around you.

 

China OWNS the USA, ask our president Obama Hussein. Look were we have gone since 2008 in this country giving away money for people that don't work, supporting two wars and maybe 3 w/ Libya, and we pay 4.00 a gallon for gas that's really good when you figure out the value of the dollar is about 60% less than it was 4 years ago. It should be 10.00 a gallon and we would import better MPG cars. Ever see any countries w/ SUVs and HUMMERS all over NO cause gas is sooo experience it is prohibited. We waste so so much in this country it's no wonder the other countries think unfavorably of us. We consume and produce very little. Have 17/18 year old children? ya know how they can Eat,Eat and sleep and sleep, and when asked to help out in ownership (Working) around the house they are offended?? Well that's America today and the sooner we get back to producing for other counties and gain thier respect as a hard working nation the better we will all be.

That's what's up with that.

Seriously, they have obesity issue and they are making a show out of people trying to loose weight when so many part around the world are starving. Union is in north america is retarded too, it drives the salary up so high for no valid reason... Here in Quebec, you get pay 60-70$/hr to drive a fucking public transit bus just because the union constantly asking for more and doing strikes. And i get 1/3 of that after graduated from university and working for 3 years.

Anyhow, without China and other low cost labor country, you will be paying 100$ for an antenna. Quality may suck with certain product, but hey, is 6$.

 

um, i just wondered why there were no one else selling these things but the chinese. just seemed odd that there wouldn't be a couple floating around elsewhere. they do buy a ton of vw's over there so maybe they got a bunch of stuff sitting around.
