Used GD3 prices up
#41
My Fit isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Especially since we're expecting our third child, and will be buying a new Ody soon. Plus I still love the car. We need it to offset the Ody's mileage.
We considered a used Ody, but after looking into it, we realized a used minivan can be a nasty peitri dish on wheels. Besides, the new Ody is probably the best looking one yet. I'm liking that zig-zag window line, and the door handles are exquisite.

Fits are stupid over priced. Some 07's are 5 years old now and even with 50-60k miles people still want 12-13k. THESE ARE 5 YEAR OLD ECONOMY CARS COSTING 15k NEW.
I wanted a Fit, but I realized even at 10k I'm overpaying just because morons think that because gas is KIND OF expensive they need to sell their car that gets 25 mpg and get something that gets 35 mpg.
Yeah, I'll take the 30-40k car with slightly worse mpg for the same or less money as a Fit, or I'll take a Civic which gets better fuel economy for a few thousand less.

Thats why you can't go wrong when you buy a used fit that is in NEW condition just broken in with a measly 51k miles with your basic mod starter package for only 14500. If only there were deals like that in the real world i would jump all over it!
what's this I found

1. why you hatin bro?
2. this isn't about your car buying adventure, it's about USED (keyword there) GD3 prices going up. which explains why I was jokingly posting about a USED GD3 I know about (mine )
3. GE base is ugly no matter what color its in, and if I've learned anything it's that buying new is the biggest mistake you can make. If you know how to spot a good used car that has all its service records and no problems whatsoever then it's like being the first owner but someone else drove it for the first xx,xxx miles and you save 6,000 or more. Even though I got my car through the costco program and got it for 15,200 by the time you factor in Honda Care and all the taxes and fees my loan was for 21,000. So yeah your base GE would not be 14,500 so do your research if you're going to compare new to USED. I can write the sale for 5,000 so the buyer only pays 400 in taxes versus 4x that at a dealer. Well I've said enough and tried to keep some of it on the topic of why it is better to buy used, or that if you are selling a used fit it's a good time to sell because of the market for them shooting way up. Check carmax and you'll see they dont have any in stock in most areas and they are a huge used car dealer

LOL @ Honda care.
Nice tax fraud.
Hating would require jealousy, I'm not at all jealous of you. You've simply proven yourself as a tool.

I normally wouldnt give you the wasted effort at this point but its slow at work right now so ill ask, why are you spending so much time on a fit forum when you already decided the fit is an overpriced waste if time. Don't you have anything better to do with your time? I have a purpose to be here posting. You are just trolling at this point so I hope you find a car that is a good fit for you (no pun intended) and you can troll in their forums and feel like people care what you say. GLWL good luck with life mike. I am just glad I don't have to be you for the rest if my life.

I have to man up and apologize to you mike, this all started cuz I thought you were someone else who had commented on my fs post so I thought you were out of line by quoting my fs post but I just saw my mistake when I checked my user cp and the screen name was different so I retract my post about you hating on my fit and I probably wouldn't have made any of the comments that followed if I had noticed that right away. But man to man its not okay that you keep attacking my character and means of paying the bills, if any of us were making 6 figures I don't think we would be driving fits lol

Hello All.
New member here, 1st post. You were talking about high prices on GD3's so I am her to say that I found a 07 storm silver, 5 speed sport for $8,100 up in Bellingham WA were I live. Clean, not rebuilt title, but it did have 102K.
Yes, seems high but it's a Honda right? Thats what I kept telling myself. The first owner was visiting his older parents in Cali and making the trips back and forth and that's where the miles came from. Then the second owner had a young adult (teenager) driving it and learned about high insurance rates.
So he sold it to me. But the weird thing was that he had it for sale for months with hardly any lookers. He had ads in the paper, craigs, and parked on a busy street and it was the year and mileage that was scaring the people off. I kept thinking "too good to be true?"
I paid him and now I am really enjoying the 5 speed and 36.5 miles to the gallon. Looking to break the 40mpg mark. I had it in for servicing as it needed new rotors and pads, new spark plugs after 100K and various fluids changed.
I put a hitch under on the back so I can mount and carry my mountain bike on the softride rack and enjoy reading all the comments and advice given her on FF.
I may even get carried away and mod my Fit! Thanks

Donscott.. I think you'll like it a lot... You say you might even modify it and you already have by installing the hitch for your bike carrier... Practical mods count for a lot in my opinion, more so than an impractical add on that just looks pretty or sounds good but not quite as good as a boost in performance... The 2007 is cool because it is the GD model that has a supercharger kit available from Kraft Werks and 102K is still fresh enough to mount one on according to Oscar Jackson who developed the kit... My 2007 is silver too and I have had it 5 years in just a few more weeks.... There are very few trolls here and a lot of helpful enthusiast that enjoy sharing info and feedback about what and how to do things that you may like or need to do to make your car better and keep it running... Welcome to the Fit Freak cult, there's not that many of us or we'd be a religion.

The used car market right now is pretty insane! From when I started looking to the time I decided on and purchased a car (about four months) it seemed like the market spiked . Everything that was once 6-7k became 9-10k and so on. Maybe it's just bad here, who knows...
Just bought an '07 AT Fit Sport with 64k miles on it for 12k last month. the previous owner maintained it very well. I can't say that it was a greatest deal, but as far as everything else that was available in the area, I'm very happy with my decision!

Any Fit is a good deal, especially the GD3 kind. And around here, that's pretty low miles for a 5 year old car...About 20,000 miles lower than average mileage.

I just got my fit refinanced and the lady said it is worth $13,000.
8 months ago i was told it was worth $8500 by the same lady.
seems that gas sipping cars are really going up in value these days.
