come on that's just childish... I love when people bring new points to the table and try to tip certitudes, i do this myself sometimes...

What i hate is people who even after they've been proven wrong still try to make a point...

I'm speaking from experience gained in a lot of horrible weather... even if i'm a student in mechanical engineering, i still know that there's nothing like tracked & tested... BTW i'm also part of a team to build a Baja, and i can assure you that the huge spikes we have on our tires are far better than slicks...

No offense, but i wonder how winters are in ohio to even think that you would know better...

from tire rack:

"If you're going to drive through lots of snow this year you'll want your winter tires and wheels in sizes that help put the laws of physics on your side.A wide, low profile or large tire has to "plow" a wide path through snow which causes more resistance. The narrower the tire, the easier you can get through snow. "
Winter Tech - Size Selection of Winter Tires

'nuff said.

btw the stocks on my car are wearing down. they have never been rotated it seems and i have about 20K on the car. I will probably get a narrow 15 so it can fit the stock wheels or just get 14" steelies. Its gotten really cold here in NYC, and I just love knowing that I have snow tires and can embarrass 4x4 SUV's and trucks in the winter and I will get the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec for the summer. my baby deserves the best

But no one could have foreseen 2 jets being flown into those buildings, loaded with jet fuel. There was just no way to build a structure and plan for that eventuality; it would have been like planning for a meteor to hit the buildings.

Given what happened they managed to hold up for quite a while, enough to get a lot of people out safely. A miracle of engineering really.

Explain please why WTC Tower 7 that wasn't hit by a plane or was on fire happened to fall in the same exact manner as the other two buildings only hours later.

I test drove a Fit 2008 sport yesterday and it has 45k miles on it. looks like the tires are needing to change very soon.

Jodele, no offense but you must be smokin crack or something. Correct tire size for the snow is not a debate. It is science.

It has ALWAYS been recommended to downsize one size in the width and up one size in the height. An example with the stock 15" size of 195/55 and move to 185/65. This keeps the rolling diameter close to stock. And more pressure on a less overall foot print to bit the snow better. Check any car manual for recommended snow tire size. Or over at The Tire Rack, same thing.

Look at ice racers. SKINNY studded tires to bite! Lots of weight on a small area. Not spread out over a large area. Think of the opposite, tires for sand. Wide and deflated to FLOAT on the sand. And will float on the snow. What part of that do you not understand?

The base structure of the building was damaged by the buildings that did collapse. It was only a matter of time...

Both were deigned by the same architect and was novel because the outer skin was responsible for the structural ridgity. It was not designed for the slicing of a 500 mph jet. Both fell the same way because their design was the same. You diid view the several showings of the WTC analysis on the History channel Tower 7 ? hit by a plane ? Imploded ? All vido of the towers falling showed cascading superstructures; nothing imploded. You really need to watch History channels program. The adjacent Solomon Bldg was probably damaged by falling debris.

Tower 7 (Solomon Brothers Building) fell later that day in the same manner as did the other buildings... There were three building that were imploded that day.... What was even more of a surprise is that as BBC was announcing from a building overlooking the sight saying that it had gone down minutes before, it could be seen through the window behind the newscaster as the roof raised up and it collapsed as would a building being demolished by implosion just as Towers 1 and 2 had.... I am just one of many that having witnessed the implosion of a building up close that responded to the televised reports of Towers 1,2 and 7 as also being imploded.
