Anti-anti Lock Out Door Locks
Hey,
I'm brand new to the forum and just bought an 07' Sport MT in June. I believe that there is a problem with my door locks, but I'm not sure how they are supposed to work. The previous owner had the recall work done on the door locks.
Currently the door locks work like this: with the key in the ignition if you open the door and then close it, the three other door locks pop up, but then immediately lock again- this time including the driver's door. As you might imagine this is not a good thing if you have stepped out of the car for a moment. From what I can gather in the manual, the door locks are supposed to all open if the driver's door has been opened and has been attempted to be locked thus preventing the driver from getting locked out, but my car's behavior is quite the opposite.
Anyone familiar with this issue?

Hey, I'm the originator of this thread but had to start a new account. Just a quick follow-up. The problem turned out to be a bad actuator in the driver's door. I still don't know how that was causing it to respond the way it did, but the actuator was replaced 6- month's ago and all is well.

The actuator could've been jammed from wear or something breaking or even a foreign object getting stuck.
When the locks try to go up, the jam makes the actuator act as if the locks were triggered to lock (ie, key turned to lock). That would result in the car locking itself.
