Horn upgrade

Hella as in Supertones? Don't even bother with Supertones. On my old Honda's, here is what I did. Go to pepboys, Autozone, etc. and pick up a set of Freeway Blaster horns.
Amazon.com: FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster Horn: Automotive
I'd get the high and low tone. Then unclip your stock horn, and splice in the new ones. Pretty easy, really. You can even use Accord, BMW, VW, Ford, etc. horns from the junk yard.

I agree that the stock horn is weak. Too weak. I used to drive a lot at night, and the horn was one of my prime tools for getting critters out of my path - especially deer. In my Subies I'd hit the horn and those bambis would jump! In the Fit I'd hit the horn and they'd just stand there, in the middle of the road, looking at me.
I grabbed a set of Subie horns from someone who was moving to Hellas. It was easy to do because Hellas are a very popular upgrade among the Impreza crowd. Now my Fit sounds like an STi and the deer are jumping the h*** out of my way again. Life is good.

Here's what I did:STEBEL S.p.A. - horns
A bit of work - not really - and a nice horn. Needed to run a 20A line off the battery to a relay tripped by the stock horn button.
Horn can mount where stock is, need a 4" bracket to attach. Mine included it. Forum search should find it.
Sits right behind the front H on a GE.

My first horn upgrade was a Stebel TM80 Magnum, a simple but loud twin-tone electromagnetic unit. Loved it, but sadly it was destroyed by a deep puddle of floodwater because of the low stock mounting location. Stebel doesn't have any provision for mounting it higher.
STEBEL S.p.A. - horns
Replaced it soon after with a Bosch Windtone for roughly the same amount of cash. The Bosch is a little less pleasing to the ear, but it's just as loud. It's mounted high up the right fender, just behind the headlight, thanks to an included bracket.
Bosch Automotive Aftermarket - Horns and fanfares - Windtone fanfare

Stock horn mounting location on a GD is on either side of the front bumper center intake...you can probably imagine how floodwater could easily damage it down there.
