GD3 Driver's seat farther back?

I tried the search function but couldn't find the thread I wanted. I think this has been discussed. Have any of the GD3 owners successfully modded the driver's seat so that it will go back further? I know the magic seat's functionality would be impaired while the seat was way back. I was hoping to achieve close to OEM results with the mod. I found one thread but that seat wouldn't stay back. TO ME legroom is my sole gripe with the fit! I'd appreciate any knowledge from GD3 owners that have successfully modded their seats to go back further. Thanks in advance!

I didn't think legroom on it's own was a problem . . . it's the combination of needing legroom while still being able to reach the steering wheel & shifter that some people have an issue with. I dunno, I'm 5'10", and fit pretty well. Best of luck . . .

want more driver's room all around!

I'd be fine being further away from the steering wheel and shifter. I'd just like to straighten out my legs! I know there would be subtle effects to the smart seats/air bags so the dealer probably won't mess with it. I don't want to add much travel, perhaps two inches. when I need the magic seat's functionality I could slide the seat up two inches. Anyway I hope anybody that's done any mod like this will chime in!

MY SOLUTION: raise drivers seat

I raised the seat by swapping for long bolts with spacers & nuts on the underside to support the raise. The only catch is that the left front side has an angle which I got around by making a metal bracket to connect the offset holes. If anyone's interested I can post pics. Its been like 6mos & I love it, I can lower the steering wheel all the way to the lowest position without any contact from the raised seat.

thread?

I actually did modify the driver's seat to move back two inches. Kudos to Decollier1.
