Quick Cheap Map light solution

Hi there! so like some of you, I agree that the lack of a map light in the GD3 kinda sucks and I've seen a few of you guys on here do DIY's of some really clean installs of map lights. Unfortunately, i dont have enough balls to cut into my head liner so I did this. I bought a Sylvania LED Tap light, mounted it on the small hard plastic area on the head liner right above the rear view mirror and thats it!

Tap light:

Interesting idea. Do you have any pics with it turned off?

sorry, i just found some time to take a day time pic. so this is basically how it looks like. its mounted via 3m double stick adhesive that it comes with. it also comes with Velcro if you want to use that option. As far as it being Dimmable, all it really is that when you tap it on, all 3 LED's turn on. tap it again and one LED turns off, tap once more and youre left with one illuminated LED. so thats hows it "Dimmable". I purchased mine at home depot for like $6.

Man that is so awesome I'm going to do it! That is one thing this car really needs (and I needed it tonight!).

I wonder how well it'll stick in the summer heat.

When it's freezing ass cold outdoors is when you really have to wonder
about how well it will stick,

i think the best way is to use the 3M velcro sticky tape like they use on the EZ pass.

Oh ya. As for the adhesive it comes with, it will soften in extreme heat. Will it fall off? That I don't know. I plan on remounting mine with 3M outdoor double sided tape anyway.
