Nooooooooo!!!! VWs are EVILEVILEVILEVILEVILEVIL! Not that I have an opinion or anything LOL Stay far away from them my man, you wil rue the day you ever bought one. The mods are cheap because every damn thing on them breaks at one time or another. I had a MK4 Jetta wagon that was the best looking, most fun, sexiest, most mod happy POS i have ever owned. It cost me more in one year of repairs than I made in payments! Don't get a Fit either, you will constantly be reminded of the first one you had and it will never measure up. I know how hard you are to please and that is a sure route to discord with your new lady friend. Since you are obviously trying hard to be mature get something more befitting a young guy trying to move up in the world, an Accord or a Hyundai Sonata SE sport package ( I really like those myself, if only it came in a manual) would be on my short shopping list.

Man u know me to well LOL. Yea i am not geting the GTI to many what if's with that car. But i am looking at maybe keeping the CR and just buying something for say like $10k. I will save up and try and pay most of it off in cash. I am still thinking about the Fit but i have also started looking at subies like this
Cars for Sale: 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX in Pensacola, FL 32505: Wagon Details - 277036908 - AutoTrader.com
I know its a little bit more than a used fit with some more miles but has plenty of room and its turboed + its really reliable by all the reviews i have read. Any suggetions on this. I figure i get space, turbo, reliability, and keep the CR. The only thing is im not sure if i want another car payment. Right now im in a good spot i feel like, i save $800 a month and have another $400 set aside for spending money ever month. And the only debt i have is my CR

Many moons ago my family purchased a Audi 5000, after witnessing how many problems the thing had at the time, I scratched any VW products off my list. I can't say I'm interested any of them now anyhow. If you want to avoid headaches stick with the Fit.

If you want to know what its like to own a VW stand under the shower and start cutting up $50 bills because that's where you money will be going. That being said however, they are still nice cars. I wanted a VW, but have known too many owners over the years and they all said the same thing, nice car when bought new for a few years. But if you plan to keep it for a long time, which I do with all my cars, things will go wrong, and you will pay more money to fix in the long run. However if you can afford it, and only plan to keep it for a couple years, I say go for it.

You did just get the Previa also didn't you? Or is that gone already? Nothing wrong with saving money every month man, and to have two vehicles in the driveway is doing pretty well if you ask me. Good call on the VW, too many what-ifs is a major understatement.

No i still have it. It is starting to have some problems leaking oil also some check engine light and oilchange light is on. Also it has no AC and the engine is under the driver seat. So it gets hot quick in FL now that spring/summer is here

Ah-so! The lure of the cheap beater has hooked another one. I am in a similar situation with my wifes fun truck, we bought it for dirt cheap thinking it would be a fun second vehicle/utility hauler. Then the engine went kablooie, and of course I CANNOT just buy a "crate" Goodwrench 350 and leave well enough alone. Heavens no! The only good news is that when the 383 stroker is finished later this summer, she'll be able to light all four (33x12.50-15) tires!

Wow. I love a GTI, but I've learned very quickly you have to really LOVE VWs if you're going to own one. I have a few hardcore Vdub friends and they are definitely in a love/hate relationship. You can set your watch (or odometer) to when certain things will begin to break. And if you plan on buying used, I'd go with the Fit (preferably a ‘07 or ‘08). But then again if you own a Vdub; you're part of the family and will receive many nods, waves, and honks from fellow Vdub owners, which should count for something, right?

LOL nice yea i bought it for $450 cash. But i feel like i should just let my GF keep driving it till it breaks down and not put any money into it. Its a great around town van its just when i want to go visit my family with the GF and dog it would suck. And if i want to go on a road trip as well.

I like to modify the old MG/Triumph joke to fit the VW, it goes like this: Why do all VWs have rear window defrosters? To keep your hands warm while you push them in the winter! LOL

I remember I test drove a GTI once, I thought it was pretty nifty. Yet, I had distrust for VW. Plus I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyways. Well next off, I test drove the Yaris, well it felt weird. Then I test drove the Versa, wasn't bad, but I didn't like the intelligent key. Then the Kia Rio, which actually wasn't that bad at all. But I also test drove the XB (1st gen), I liked it. But My friend was talking me into the Fit so I test drove it & loved it. The rest was history

I inherited a 2007 Altima before I traded it in on the Fit. It was equipped with what Nissan labeled as a "Smart Key." I miss that key now. The key that comes with the Fit is nice, but the Smart Key was so good I could just leave it in my pocket and lock and unlock the doors plus start the car too without removing the key from my pocket. For the most part even with the damage that came with my Altima, it was a good car. I just thought it was too big, a bitch to park because of its size and rear end that blocked my view. I was no fan of its floaty ride either or MPG (2.5 liter + CVT).

Did this cat really ask that question on a Honda website? What kind of answers did he expect. My vote is GTI, because if you thought about Cheating on Honda she dont want you either! SORRY!

I currently own a '07 GTI and my wife has an '08 Fit. Given the two choices, I must implore you with every fiber of my being to buy the Fit over the GTI. If I had it to do over again, I would NEVER have gone down the road that I did, and now I'm stuck with the VW unless I sell it, which I seriously have moral issues with.

If you are completely stuck on the GTI, at the VERY least go for a 2008.5-2010 model year (TSI engines). They have the more reliable engines because they've fixed the "non-existent" issues that VW refuses to acknowledge in those of us with the '06-'08.5 model years (FSI engines).

If you want more details, I'll be happy to PM you.
