Ac help !
my AC sucks....it doesn't blow cold when car is at idle
and i heard honda made it like that to help save the environment, which i think it's stuipd because u want AC when car is idle and when car is moving, fresh cold air is already moving in...i think they got it around the wrong way...
anyways my question is ... how do i make my AC COLD ? and how do i keep it COLD even at idle .....
i hate sitting in traffic for 45min, have AC on and still wet my ass.
thx

lol @ wet ass
My A/C is cold at idle, and I gotta believe that Honda wouldn't do that (have no a/c at idle) or they probably wouldn't sell many cars. I could be wrong, or maybe it's a Canadian model thing. All I know is mine works at idle.
However, it does blow warm air on hotter days when I really push the throttle in. There's been a discussion over that, though.

Have you tried putting the fan speed on 3 instead of 4? The reason I ask is because the air passes slower through the lines which gives the refrigerant more time to take the heat out of the air due to the lower speed. If that doesn't help have your AC system leak tested and see if it is full.

you need... "THE BUTTON".
For some reason a lot of GD3 fits have their evaporator sensor calibrated to shut off when the temp gets down to 45F. Well that's not very cold considering every other honda (and most other cars) is in the neighborhood of 36-38F.
I made a circuit in parallel with the evap sensor that leaks a tiny bit of current and tricks the calibration of the computer. Mine is currently set to about 35F if enabled and the moderately warm 45F if I want to save fuel or just use the defroster. I made a how-to thread on here somewhere.
In the meantime, if you just want overall colder air, you can pretty much keep the system maxed if you just turn the fan to 4 because the sensor won't get cold enough to kill the compressor as much. On 1 or 2 it'll only run for 5-10 seconds and shuts off.
