Thanks! It is funny how at first I wanted white rims and never had any thought to do the hood but one night I could not sleep and I just started thinking black rims - CF hood - yikes! Could I do it and how would it look. This car has taught me a lot about taking your time and doing my mods one item at a time. It has taken me 3 years to get it to this and now I can just enjoy it and have fun with it.

I think it gets easier to calmly envision and make a decision as we acquire wisdom from experience.... I am getting ready to spend a chunk of change for an under the hood upgrade..... My body just isn't over the last time I had to crawl under and wield a wrench for a suspension upgrade.... I hope to get around to prettying it up one of these days.... I'll be looking out for future modifications that you make to your Fit.

If you need help, Coyote...you know how to get in touch with me ;-)

I'll help ya any way I can.

And Cat, I think the color scheme you have going on your car is perfect. It looks great!

I am going for white/black/red type theme myself.

They don't match? And what if the hood falls down / if I close it with to much force?!

The trick with CF is to just eaaaaaaase the hood down and then push it the last bit to a solid latch. Slamming it down like you would the OE piece is a sure-fire way to crack the laminate, rubber strip or no rubber strip. Cat the car looks fabulous, now you just need more low! LOL Sorry I just had to say it before someone else beat me to it. I would paint the foglight housings black as my next mod if I was you. They are the other part that takes a beating from the roads and the black is easily touched up, unlike the Milano Red.

Ditto on black fog light housings..... I was thinking that since the new hood was installed and hoping to see a post from Cat saying something about doing it.... I have some rubberized black undercoating to do mine with.

What year?

Hi,

Looking to get a carbon fiber hood for a 2002 Fit but the most of the manufacturers have 2007-2008 as the earliest make. Will this fit the 2002 model?

2002? So you have the european / jdm version.

You can buy the two different jdm seibon hoods only (oem, mugen style).

Thanks MGUTT

Yep I have an imported Japanese GD1 L13A 2002 model... just went on Seibon's website and checked the Fit-JDM and am seeing as early as 2003 for the Mugen and OEM like u said. There weren't any changes between 2002 and 2003 right?

clear coat the hood and you will have zero discoloration problems. OR you have to polish and wax it at least twice a week and try to keep it out of direct sunlight as much as you can.
