OEM Sport Muffler with Auto trans?

I have an 08 automatic & want to get an OEM sport muffler. But it says "for manuals only". Is this true?

I saw an eBay listing that said it works fine with ALL Fits, it's just alittle louder with the automatics... True? Why is it louder?

Thanks!

Louder cause we don't shifts so there's no break in the tone when we lift off the gas pedal to press the clutch pedal. Even then it's still one of the quietest muffler for the GD.

The HFP axle back is listed for the M/T only, but it will work for A/T Fits because there is no difference between the A/T's and M/T's exhausts. The only reason (I believe) that it is suggested for the M/T only is so that exhaust note doesn't bother the driver as the A/T's torque converter locks and unlocks while driving; this can be remedied by simply turning up the radio.

Other than that, there is no audible difference between having the HFP on either an A/T or M/T.

Maybe he meant the muffler was loud on the manual Fit and just a little louder than the stock muffler on the automatics....

Nah, that is actually in the description for the HFP axle back.

The HFP is louder on an auto fit then on a manual. That's why they recommend it for the mt fit only. It's not just the HFP but other mufflers as well. I had HKS, Megan, AP2, HFP, and heard them on my auto and mt fits. They were louder on my auto then the mt fits.

Cool, I'm glad it'll work with my AT.

I hate the big coffee can (4" tips) look of all the other performance exhausts out there... the HFP is the only one that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

If you have any low-cost suggestions... let me know. Thanks

Only thing with the HFP is that it hang a bit low. CHeck out the stickie on the HFP in the exhaust section for a solution to that.
I believe Handa Accesories have one of the better price for it. ALso try ebay and here.
