infinity basslink

I finally installed the infinity Basslink in my 08. I liked the OEM sport stereo but the new bass adds a totally new element to the Fit's "aura". My thanks to the FFers that helped me with the various issues associated with the subwoofers installation. I couldn't have done it without the knowledge that fitfreak.net provided me!

Took the stickers off, cleaned it inside and out, took out the LEDs and CCL's I installed. Sent it on it's way to it's new home. Never did find the time to polish and wax it, but it was a good car.

I'll try

I've never posted pics on Fitfreak.net but I'll try. It's pushed as far in the passenger side rear corner as possible. I used a 26 inch bungee cord and it holds it perfectly with the two passenger side tie down hooks. I brought the power wire easily through the driver side grommet ran the wire down the drivers side of the car and tapped into the rear speakers at the base of the B-pillars. I mounted the remote in the fuse cover/cubbyhole that is about where the driver's left knee is. It sounds FAR better than I ever expected it would (killer for $160 for subwoofer and wiring kit) and can be removed in a minute if required. I was pretty unhappy with about half my interior moldings out but it went back together quite well.

Just curious.. did the friction steels warp or they just needed to be replaced because they were worn beyond service spec? This is an aluminum FW not Chromoly right?

ya its aluminum. its just a good idea to turn ur flywheels when u replace a clutch. that way u dont have premature wear and or warpage. in this case it has a replaceable lining so its the same thing.

I can't remember since I have many but I'm going to replace it with this one

Amazon.com: Highland 9414800 Black and Purple Adjustable Fat Strap Bungee Cord: Automotive

along with some wire loom

Amazon.com: 3/4" Purple Ultra Wrap Wire Loom - 1 Foot: Kitchen & Dining

to neaten up the one foot of wires that are exposed. Yeah I might be a litttle into the purple but the car IS a BBP.

Still using the pic from my photobucket I see. ha

Anywho, I drove the Fit to visit one of my uncles today. On the way, I made a right by a bank and usually the building can help hear exhaust sort of like being in a tunnel so...

I left it in 1st and went full throttle till the end of the gear. The HFP still sounds great despite how quiet it is compared to other axle backs. Plus I got a wave from a little kid in a Durango while doing this.

lol... had mine in 2007 and i smells fine
but it is extremely rare that there's food in my car... same goes for my dog...

But i used pledge multi-surface on the dash and it has a nice lemony smell! it's also supposed to be anti-static
