I am building mine NA as well, until the engine gives in. Given that a Honda engine lasts almost forever with proper care, by that time I hope K-swaps are cheap.

 

I want to see someone swap in gk pistons and a cam into an l15a1. That should make a sweet little motor. Like the old d16z6.

 

Hey all, got a 2008 Sport coming up on 110,000 miles. Over the years I've basically neglected the guy except for conventional oil changes, tires and batteries.

So over the last six months I've started learning and doing my own maintenance to save money and because I enjoy fixing things.

So here's where I am:
- Oil changes are now Pennzoil Platinum Plus full synthetic with Mobil 1 M1-110 filter every 6000 miles
- Changed out the transmission fluid (Tried to do the filter, but couldn't get it off)
- Changed out the spark plugs with Denso PK20TT Platinum
- Changed out all 4 ignition coil with the Hitachi branded model IGC0053
- Autocraft battery
- Yokohama YK580 tires
- Hawk Performance HPS brake pads and Sector 27 rotors

Next on my to-do list is flushing the brake fluid and I'd like to change the brake lines to some nice ones, maybe blue like the car or the chrome finish. Can someone help me out with ideas. I hear people talk about Motul brake fluid. What would I need to get.

Also looking at the MityVac system to help out. I figure I can do the minivan too and family members if need be. Anyone use this system?

After the brake fluid flush what else do you think I should change at 110,000 miles? What about the drums on the back?

I changed my coil packs a couple of weeks ago. Went with the hitachi igc0053 brand from rockauto.com. From what I read they are OEM, just without the Honda market branding. It's been a couple of weeks and no issues that I can tell. I'm at 110,000 miles.

Did you have to gap your new spark plugs before putting them in?

 

Washed it a couple days ago and today I waxed the entire car using Meguiars Black Wax. I highly recommend it for us NHBP'ers out there. It does a great job of light polishing while waxing. My car will still need a good clay barring in the fall. I don't think my car's paint has looked this good since I bought it.

 

Washed it a few days ago and took it to get a bew clutch installed. The place I took it installed the clutch and squeezed in a dyno tune too, thanks to someone I know knowing some people who can pull some strings. 159.6whp at ~5600rpm and 169wtq at ~4000rpm. I love the "psssssht" and surprised a Fiat 500 Abarth this morning!

 

Sweet!!! More torque than hp!!!

Dang haven't been on here in a bit. Great to see everyone has some new upgrades and having fun. I'll have to post some things I've been doing to the Fit. Mostly just killing cones on the weekend!

 

Just bought a brand new white Fit! I am a first time Fit owner and I am so excited! However because this is my first car, I am unsure of what the first steps I should take are.
I have heard it's important to wax a new car. However I do not know very much about waxing (what type, how often etc.)
If anyone has new car owner tips, all would be appreciated!

 

I got new motor mounts installed a few days ago. Before that the only thing I did was stall it. Twice. Like a b0ss n00b. I was kind of embarassed. In my defense though, I had my music up really loud and couldn't hear the revs (or lack thereof).

 

That's awesome! And don't worry about the stall I do it still every once in a while. The clutch makes it difficult. The car is coming out really nice!

 

Hey, I need to get my mounts done.. did you go with stock or aftermarket? How much did you get hit for the install if you don't mind me asking.. thanks ;-)

 

Thanks! Now I don't feel so bad. The clutch sure does make the sweet spot of shifting really small.

I went with Innovative mounts, even though word on the forum is that they don't fit correctly. Previc used them, so since I'm pretty much copying everything he did, I went with Innovative. They were about $350USD from here: https://www.innovativemounts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=10850 plus probably like $25 more shipping. I haven't picked up my car from the shop I took it to, but they were going to charge 2 hours for drop-in mounts. Since they more than likely had to modify them (since I have a USDM Fit and they were probably made for the JDM Jazz), it'll probably run me more for install.

 

How much boost?

 

10 psi drops to about 5.

 

Yes it fits a Honda Grom.. just remove the handlebars and tilt it sideways to get it in (rear first).

 

Exedy clutch replacement today. Only a few more minor things and it will be perfect! My wife loves the GD3 more than I do. I made the mistake of letting her drive it.
