Agreed. And if you sucked at putting them on like I did then you'll have hazy bubbles and the sides will peel back like a pyramid (the best I can describe it without pictures). The haziness "should" go away in a few months and the peeling can be corrected with some water/vinegar? solution. Looks good though!

I'll see if I can find the video of when I did it. It was a depressing day.

it was a nightmare haha! Not a perfect job, there are no air bubbles, tho I did have the a problem with the edges coming up (pyramids)
but I trimmed along the edge about 5mm all round to get rid of them.
Looks good but dont know how long I will be keeping it on for as i have some yellow bulbs to go in. ebay item: 360734263267

Sooo had a laundry list of recalls completed on my Fit a couple months ago. It seems ever since then I've had weird electrical issues that seem to be getting worse. I have no idea if it's directly related to the recall work, but I'm concerned that if I take it in, they'll bend me over the counter.

It's come to a point that when I'm driving, the car's electrical system 'skips a beat' so-to-speak. The dash lights will blink once, the headlights will dim for a second, and it almost seems as if you shut off the entire car for half a second and then things jump back to normal.

I don't think it's the alternator, as that was replaced last year. I doubt something is just loose, as this can happen while I'm driving or stopped at a light.

Any ideas???

What all electronic-related recalls were performed? I know that there was one recently for the front driver's side door panel to fix something related to the window switches that can get too wet, short out, and cause a fire or something. This is the second one to fix the first fix that didn't fix the problem all the way. Other than that I can't remember any other recall stuff.

Although I am still waiting for the MR race header and Custom high flow cat I decided to install the mid pipe today. The sounds ins't crazy loud like I expected it to be, but i'm the WR header will change that.

The fun part was after the install and test run around the block. I shook the exhaust to exhaust to see if there was extra movement. Well grabbing the exhaust from the resonator wasn't an issue because it wasn't to hot, maybe warm at best. The fun was when I grabbed the pipe on accident and burned my hand. Mother F#@ker was that HOT!!!

me? i bought my '08 5-speed, non-sport, used low miles, back in may. it had some cheesey mods.

what i've been doing is slowly returning it to stock. so far, i have:

1) gotten rid of the cheesey HID conversion and returned the headlights to stock.

2) gotten hold of a stock radio and radio code for it, but have not installed it yet

3) after that, i'm going to try to get rid of the aftermarket alarm system

I don't like splices into OEM wiring. It causes problems down the road if you have a car long enough... Ask me how I know?

What are you doing with that HID system?

Also, if an aftermarket alarm is installed properly, it is an insurance discount. Leave it plugged in, get your discount, then disable it, but leave it in place for appearance.

Cant argue with saving money!

I tried to give the two 4300k HID BULBS and two ballasts away for one penny plus shipping on ebay. There were no takers. I think I might get a 110vac to 12vdc converter and make a table lamp out of them... Or just toss 'em.

As for the aftermarket alarm, I paid cash for the car and it's not insured for loss anyway... Just liability. So having an alarm gives me nothing except worry over the threat of taps into the factory wiring harness.

Man that is shitty. This is the reason I will not do a lip. My stock sport lip is already seen its share of abuse.

Spilled gas in the trunk area. Anyone have any good ways to clean this up? I've already wiped up all the puddles and removed the carpet back there and hung it to air out.

I've never spilled gas in the trunk area before, but I did spill a bunch of random chemicals back in the day before I got a cargo tray.

Each time I would use water and some paper towels to try and dilute the chemical/spill. Do that a few times and then use some basic carpet cleaners. Let it air dry for a day and repeat. After the stain/spill is gone, or until I'm satisfied, I just febreeze to finish it off.

Believe it or not, these wipes also come in handy when you're scrubbing as well.

Folex is supposed to be a good carpet cleaner. I use it and find it ok. It says to dilute it 1:1. You could try saturating the upholstery with that. Be warned that it isn't scented which is a double edged sword; you can use loads but when it does lift out the doors and dirt, it leaves your car smelling foul for a few days while the bad doors locked in the carpet dissipate. Febreese might then be a good option. I'd get the un scented fevers se if you plan on using a lot of it.

It really wouldn't make a difference on an AutoX course usually aero starts working around 60-70 mph or so.

Oh... and I found the video I'll try and upload it with my slow laptop. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.
