Finally drove it after 35-37 days. I was really getting tired of driving my parents' minivan.


Aaaand changed the oil and started using Full Synthetic instead of blend.

 

The other day I ordered Polarg White bulbs to replace my dome light.They were on backorder and the company sent me a pair of 168/194 LEDs free with the dome lightfor the inconvenience. Upon receiving everything, I didn't get the Polarg dome light thatwas on backorder but an LED type dome light bulb instead. Guess "backorder" meantthey didn't have it at all and they shipped me an alternate.

So I said what the hell and used them today. The left side housing clip broke just like a lot of other people experienced. I had a feeling one of them would.

I have to say, the LEDs were a huge step up from stock for both the License plate leds and the dome light. Now I'm ordering the PIAA Extreme White plus 168/194 wedge bulbs to compare. I needed one for the cargo area anyway.

 

Ah man I'm looking forward to the car getting fixed. Hopefully i'll hear soon an ETA.

Today I fastened the top portion of the catalytic converter's heat shield to the converter with two adjustable clamps. The bottom shield fell off already a while ago so wanted to make sure the top actually stays on. The rattling has been driving me nuts for months and I finally got around to doing it.

So quiet now, ahhh.

 

On a random note with that, yet to get under my car and check it out but appears I have got a small exhaust leak. Any idea if there is a common spot it happens or a problematic looking area? hate exhaust leaks lol

 

When I was under there, the most rust I saw was from where the downpipe meets the catalytic converter pipe, the converter itself, and shortly after the converter. The B-Pipe flange and right before it was okay.

My cat flange bolts are shot. It will need to be cut out whenever I need a new cat.

 

The bronze color looks great on your car. I love the styling of the wheel also.

Tonight I just changed out the oem spark plugs for denso IK22 and was surprised at the results! Smoother and more acceleration for sure. More noticeable than the crank and alternator pulleys! I'm not sure when the oem plugs were last changed but they didn't look too bad. I switched to 91 octane about a week ago with no noticeable results until now.

Love your GD1! Very clean, lip kit lines are awesome, I also like what you did with the door handles. The red JDM H emblem will really pop against your black hatch garnish. Exterior wise, I would do nothing else, looks near perfect.

 

I had a pwjdm battery relocation kit with the pc680 installed and it kept dropping when a new load cycled on it( like the ac or headlights).

So I modified my OEM battery tray and now have the OEM battery back in place. Now the battery sits sideways like the pwjdm kit, which gives more room to the intake tubing. It isn't perfect yet I just needed it to be done so that I could drive to car today. On another day when I have more time I will make a plate that fits in there better and makes it look like it belongs there.

I'll try to snap a picture a little later and post it up.

 

That battery was probably messed up, the car only does that when the battery is almost dead.

 

Yeah it was the battery. I don't have the money to buy a new pc680 and the Honda battery was fairly new before I changed out for the pwjdm kit.

I was gonna take a picture of the current setup but a nasty storm just rolled through here so maybe I'll snap a pic tomorrow. I think I'll keep this setup at least until the current battery dies. Like I said I'll eventually make a better tray for the battery to sit in. I wish I would have taken pictures before I finished the work, but I had to be somewhere so I did this in about an hour with a dremmel and a pair of channel locks. It is by no means perfect.

Washed, polished both rear doors and top of rear bumper, then waxed those areas with cleaner wax. I still have the two front doors, front bumper, and front quarter panels before the whole car is done.

 

I inadvertently joined the Muffle Delete club today. I took the muffler off to weigh it and accidently broke the bolts with my impact wrench. Doesn't sound too bad actually! Wonder what the wife will say!
