TC...it amuses me to think of you in a SC fit playing with the fat rednecks down your street. lol! Its surprising tho that they arent more put off by your lil import as most wont look at you unless its a diesel with an exhaust pipe that looks like a 55 gal drum.

Well, it's funny that you mentioned an exhaust pipe that looks like a 55 Gallon drum.. The first thing the skinny little guy in the pickup noticed as he approached from behind my car was the 4" outlet on my Aero Turbine 2540i muffler... It's commonly used on turbo diesels and stock cars... I told him where he could order one and he was pretty excited.... I'm glad I went to the liquor store, I finally got a decent amount of sleep for a change... I have to have a few shots a few times a year or visions from 68-69 keep me awake.. That is why I get the star when I do and my post are off the wall and rambling...

That 2540i isnt too bad but this is what im talking about.

Most mufflers these days come with a 100mm+tip so no biggie but that on a diesel just looks ridiculous and i HATE getting covered in diesel fumes >

Down around Houston is where I have seen some of the widest diesel pickups but I think it was Atlanta Texas that I was behind one I could have ridden the Goldwing I was riding under with out having to duck my head... The fumes from the exhaust smoke that resembled the well fires in Kuwait was overwhelming, then the light turned green and that intersection became hell... Our clothing reeked of diesel even after over a week of being on the road... That included a $700 leather touring coat... The guy driving it was decked out like a rich cowboy and must have been from one of the power families in that area... I am still puzzled how he was able to get in or out of the damned thing...

Got my gauges wired and working today. It took a good chunk of the day but I got every thing wired up and working I even started the car up to check for leaks and all seems good. All that is left to do as for the gauges is to remount the gauge pod and tuck some of the wires a little better.

Washed & Detailed both fits today! man that feels good to be minty clean

Had put in new tires earlier this week. One of the tires during installation wasent held down by the machine that takes the tires on and off and LAUNCHED up in the air and bounced around some other machines and scratched the crap out of it... at least they are resurfacing it for free..rookie mistake. no biggie, riding on steelies in the front for the time being..

Feels so weird with 14" steelies and 16" rims in the back. haha

Had one of my PIAA Intense White light bulbs go out on me before I left late for work. -.- Had to snag the OEM bulbs and put them on at work before it rained or we got busy.

After work, I picked up a set of H4 and H11 Silverstar Ultras to replace all of the driving lights this weekend.

can you do me a favor.

I have completely removed my oem gauge cluster, something might have got unplugged but my hazzards and turn signals do not flash. does the dash have to be plugged up for them to work??? can you unplug your oem dash and see if yours work. maybe I removed the "body" ecu on accident... where is it located? was it the thing mounted on top of the engine ecu?..

the center console one is SRS air bag unit, the one behind glove box is the motor ecu. but the body one is somewhere...

Lights

Looking at the wiring diagram, the turn signals and hazards run through the "Gauge Control Module", which is built into the cluster from what I can tell, looking at wiring and location diagrams. Looks like wiring goes from turn swtich, to hazard switch, to gauge cluster, to fuse/relay box, to bulbs. Hope this helps.

IM looking through my 07-08 service manual and I cant find anything about a body ECU. it only shows the SRS and the ECM/PCM. I think i understand better what your asking now. I am still using my OEM cluster for fuel readings and turn signal indicators and what not. Your problem might be that they run through he cluster and need it plug in to work.
