I gave my car a general tune-up. After 85,000KM (53,000 miles) it needed it.
New Plugs - E3
Oil and filter
Valve lash adjustment

The car runs much smoother all around, however i will need to recheck the valves because it is a little nosier than normal. I believe it is because i adjusted the exhaust side to the maximum allowable spec. they were right tight before the adjustment.

bumpers are hard to fix the chips cause u cant just use bondo or it will crack with the flex so they use panel bond. that stuff is expensive for what u get. then they have to smooth it down which if u dont use the right grit of sand paper or if u sand too far down the plastic will fuzz off which is hard to paint over to look smooth...

but ill see if they can get it done and give u a deal.

Let my mom drive it today. She was impressed by how the clutch and the stick were fun to use!

That said, she almost ran into a car in a parcking lot!

Well I haven't "done it to the FiT" yet, but tonight I will be going to the Street Legal drag races. This will be my first time !
I am hoping for 3 things:
- that I don't break anything (as my car is the daily driver for my family)
- that I can obtain a decent ET (I have no idea what is reasonable for the FiT)
- and that I don't get too addicted to racing (I'm hoping to get to an autoX event sometime)

Not to be a party proper but the fit is a horrible car for drag racing (in its stock form). But you will have a blast anyway, I use to tear up the 1320 in an eg hatch with a b16 all motor running 13's with almost 200hp at the flywheel, so the little l15 might be good for just under 20 seconds. Auto x will be better suited and probably more competitive. Once the k20 started getting crammed into little hatches and going 11's all motor I lost interest cuz then it was more about the size of your wallet than your skills. But I'm curious to how you like it and how you do. And if you're going for your own best time and not trying to beat the guy next to you then don't worry about the lights. Reaction time is only important if your worried about crossing the line before the other guy. Let us kniw

I know the FiT is the furthest thing from a drag car, there's a group of us going. everything from my fit to a 240sx with a drift setup. just gonna run down the track for the hell of it.
driving cars fast is fun, at the track its legal and safe. i'll post the times that the little L15 can push out. I'll be surprised if i can best 17s (optimist).

Edit: I'm going to give the PocketDyno App for iPhone a go while at the track and see how accurate it is.

When I first got my b16 in and ran it I was between 16.2 and 15.7 with street tires and about 160hp flywheel. I'm curious what our engine will do too

I am a week late in posting this but it just seems that since my sister passed away in March my Mom has been ill. She is doing some better so I am hoping she has turned a corner.

We added trophy number 19 (a plaque) to the trophy shelf - winning a Top 50 out of 148 cars at last weeks show. We had a great time and saw several really nice Honda's. In fact two of my friends have come over to the darkside and purchased old Honda's they are restoring. The car will be retired after this year because of being 4 years old and a DD just too hard to keep the paint looking show worthy even though I avoid driving the interstate and park him in the back 40, still getting those dreaded paint chips. We have a hand full of shows coming up so I am hoping to hit 20 by then and I'll be happy. Going this morning to get my new Yokohoma tires on and I will be happy to get the Dunlops off as I have developed a bulge on the front left one. Anyway, here is a picture from last weeks show.

Go to auto zone and buy a section of radiator hose. Ask them if you can go back and pick it out. Find the straightest piece you can about 12" or so. Go to lowes and buy some thin gauge wire. Go home. Cut about a 6" piece out of the hose. Cut it down the middle to open it up. Push cut hose over top of area rubbing. Use wire to attach it to piping. Done. It will smell a little at first but wil go away. Other option is take a ball point hammer and beat frame rail to clear. Kinda like shoe horning a larger motor in a firewall.

Off that. Lowered alexs ge last night. He loves it. Also debadged and depinstripped it. Fresh waxed it to rid body of left over goo. Black is so gorgeous clean, but does not stay that way long. He was very happy.
