Not So Sticky Situation
Hi,
I installed Zeta's brushed stainless steel dash kit. I haven't taken pictures yet as I haven't put in the big stereo surround piece. So far I like it and it went in pretty easy. The joint for the door handl surround want to keep unsticking though. I think it I reprime that area again it should stay stuck.
If anyone has any other ideas to get it to stay on that curve let me know.
Other than tinted windows, a " Fit" bug deflector, and JDM red emblems that's all the mods I've done so far. In the future I think I will put on black rims with a stainless or chrome lip.
Chris

I had the same prob with the Zeta burl wood kit I used. I pealed off the gray thin 2x tape that comes on the handle covers and use 3M white doubl sided tape and that was 1.5 years ago and so far so good. The trick is to get the surface really clean I used rubbing alcohol and checked with a piece of masking tape ( if the masking tape stuck on really good then your 3m tape will)
hope this helps
Mike
PS we want 2C pix pls
Here's a pic of mine, Finest plastic this side of China... Haha

FINALLY brought Aibo in for the long-overdue windshield replacement. The dealership isn't making things easy or straightforward. Argh. Their process is infuriating.
It's been a month since the crack began and it's now more than twice the original length.
After this is dealt with, I can finally move on to other planned minor mods...

I applied my 9th coat of wax today, a nice coat of Griots One-Step Sealant. Sometimes I like to change things up and use something other than my screen name (Klasse)
I also drove to the dealership to show off my clean ride and ordered the Mugen rearview mirror cover too, that's what I did to my Fit toay!

The crack didn't appear until I made the climb up the mountains to Baguio City last month, though. I'm not entirely sure how - I'm guessing really cold mountain dew, some chassis twisting at the front, or just how laminated glass works - but it suddenly propagated into a six-inch, L-shaped crack while I was having lunch.
In the intervening month the crack just kept on growing and growing.

Get that chip filled in. Worth spending the $20 - $40 instead of having it crack when you hit a bump!!!!

Saturday: Polished the rims, shined the tires...
Sunday: Went to watch a local gymkhana event, which was awesome. Puckered up a few times as an occasional car slid towards the Fit...Later on that day, towed a go kart.
Monday: Went to town, got fuel and picked up a few things...
Today (Tuesday): Went to the corner store for some root beer.
