MR got new rims

Well after being on the fence as to what was next for my car - I finally decided and the final mods on my car are taking shape. First I was going to go with white rims but then after this winter and the damage done by the junk they put on the roads - I decided to do a Seibon CF hood - so I did not want to go with white rims because it was just going to be too much going on. So I ended up with ICW Racing Odessa rims - gloss black with machined lip - I know don't say it! We had our first cruise in tonight and all my car guy friends were like - should have went with 16 inches! The hood should be here sometime next week.

Anyway, let me know what you think - good or bad. I was really happy with the way that they look and I got some really nice comments tonight from people I did not know at the Cruise In. The most fun one was three little kids that said, "Look Dad a Japanese car!" It looks like one of those cars from Fast and Furious! LOL! I asked them if they wanted to sit in it and they were excited. Then one lady said she never even heard of a Fit before - I know we all get that one alot. We had a blast hanging out and just getting caught up after not seeing everyone all winter long.

Here are the pics:

I like it. I have the same type of vent visors and black wheels on my SSM 07, wish my rims were polished..... The CF hood will look great... The Cruise In outing sounds like fun, I know I would have enjoyed it.

Not too shabby, but I think that adding a carbon fiber hood would have too many black/dark parts on the car.

What is the offset of those rims?

Also word to the wise, use a shammy to dry your rims after washing and polish them 3 to 4 times a year.

Thanks for the info - they are 38 mm offset.

Judging by the tread, those look like the factory Dunlop SP31s.

I lowered my car just a little with Swift Mach springs and it actually rides better than it did stock and the handling is great.... The negative is that the front lip of my car scrapes at times.

Those wheels are fine if you're wanting a stock, but not-so stock look. I would go with 17" if I went replacing my rims.

And not to be negative Nelly, but that style of vent visors is just god awful. Also I'm not sure about a CF hood on a 95% stock looking car. But it's your car & everyone has a differnt dream.

I love the Mugen visors so much I have a set myself

The car looks great Cat! I'm glad you found a set of rims you like, even if they aren't white.

Thanks!

They at 15 x 6.5 inch rims - sitting on the stock Dunlops - My car is going to be 3 years old in May but I've only got 16,000 miles on those stocker tires. They are in great condition and I have them rotated at every oil change. So I saw no reason to buy new tires. The rims are ICW Racing - Odessa Gloss Black/machined lip. Offset +38.

17" wheels are anchors on a car with a 1.5 liter engine.

Thanks! Yes I love, love, love my Mugen visors - after really seeing how many chips I had in the hood - I knew that I either had to do something different or go for getting the entire hood repainted which would only result in the same issues in a few years. Our winter here this year was one of the worst and the hood just looked awful. One of my friends is having to have his Honda repainted because of the damage after driving on the roads here this winter. So I started thinking about the CF hood and knew that the white rims would just be too many colors. The plan is to show it with the CF hood and in the fall the stock hood and rims will be put back on. This way I can maybe eek out another year of showing. I got a Seibon CF hood which is one of the best and when the guys did one for a Siphon article they said they had no fitiment issues at all. It is really hard to keep the car show worthy and it is your daily - but it is garaged at night and I keep it clean. I am taking vacation time to get the car ready for the show and just found out the guy judging the import and tuner class will be doing on the knee inspections so he will expect the underbody to be clean too! Yikes! Anyone willing to come to my house next Friday night and lift the car off the ground for me while I clean???!! LOL!

I thank everyone for the comments -and taking time to look it over.
