07/08 Transmission noise when put in drive.
I've seen this discussed somewhere before, but couldn't find using search.
When I put the car from Park to Drive, when it makes the shift between neutral and drive there's a sound, almost a 'cla-chunk' that comes from the transmission. It has never increased in severity, and there are no performance issues.
I've seen this talked about before, and at that time people had said it was normal. As we're about 6k from exiting the factory warranty, I wanted some input from others with the 07/08 Automatic (mine is Base Model if that matters). Do you get the faint engagement sound when going into drive?

lol^^me too.
dont worry man, its normal. I mean, as Honda says, its normal.
what I usually do to avoid it is press the brake still with the car completely stopped, move it into drive and give it like 2 or 3 seconds before letting go because the sound usually happens when the car is still moving and you shift either way.

When you are engaging drive or reverse the sound is a combination of drive train and engine/trans axle mount play that is being taken up..... You wouldn't have believed the ungodly sound that Ford F150s of the 70s and 80s made when they were put in gear.... It sounded like someone dropped a crowbar on an anvil.
