question about TPMS sensor

question about TPMS sensor

okay i have a fit one of the tmps sensor broke and i need a replacemet now. If i use one tpms sensor from another fit. can that one sensor be programmed to the car or i have to buy a whole new set of 4.

Please advise im not really to familiar with the tpms and how it can be programmed. most likely have to take it to the dealer

you can replace just the one, as for the programming, the dealer can do it or some good tire shops

There is no programming required for our TPMS set up. All you have to do it have a new one installed and drive on it for a couple miles. The car is just looking for a sensor on the wheel.

well the car was hit on the rim and the rim was pretty damaged and so was the sensor.

Does this work if you bought someone else's rims with TPMS on it? I did so, and I've driven around for 60 miles now, and the light is still on...

On older Honda TPMS systems yes. I was actually going to come into this thread today and update my info. I Just replaced my tires and the tech that installed them had never done a TPMS wheel before and broke a sensor, he picked up a replacement from Honda and replaced it. My light is still on, he's trying to figure out how to shut if off cheaply.

You've to bring it to a dealer for them to program it for the new sensors.
