2008 Honda Fit Vs People Mover. Round one!
Yay Friday the 13th! Wrecked my Fit into a goddamn bus. Stupid fu**er was slowing down in the traffic lane instead of getting in the turn lane. Tried to avoid it but went into a skid, tried to squeeze between it and a tire truck and still hit the back corner of the bus, got thrown into the tire truck then spun into oncoming traffic. Regained control and got in the turn lane without getting hit any more. All in all Fit fared alot better than I would have expected. No airbag deployment. ABS is smoked, and the electric power steering unit is fu**ed, but it still runs smooth as butter.
Back glass is shattered

Hmmm I wonder if the Bus driver said " Stupid f**ker behind me was tailgating and going too fast for conditions". Been there done that. I have also been hit in the azz by someone tailgating and attempting to pass me. Here are the results
I was driving the 54 Meteor. The woman was driving the Dodge. Icy hwy and she tried to pass while tailgating and clipped my rear. I went over a culvert and into a creek. She barreled rolled a few times. Waah I was 18 and my first car.

Nice car! Put 4 winter tires on that puppy and you will be:
- unstoppable in winter weather
- able to avoid peoplemovers in the future

Thanks to Black3sr for stating the obvious before I got here...
Big vehicles require more room to turn. The company I work for specifies a minimum of 4 feet from the curb when making a turn, which means that we end up straddling a lane in order to make the turn safely. Where the "Stupid F__er" messed up was failing to block both lanes so, in your hurry, you attempted to pass on the right (which is illegal in most states).
Sorry about your loss, but let's also not point fingers at the professional doing his job.

damn Fits get murdered left and right! I guess America isn't yet ready for small slow cars yet? Or it's just the curse of the Fit. Glad you're okay and everyone else. Nice Subaru. Perfect winter car!

Yeah that sucks and it looks to my experienced eye that it will be totaled. (kidding about the experience part!) I like the look of your replacement but RIP to your BOM Fit.
Makes me happy I'm not trying to drive my Fit on those snowy roads!

Uh huh. It was the short bus model, perfectly capable of making the turn from the turn lane since tractor- trailers do it daily. Now that the investigation is done I am proud to report that the driver of the bus WAS cited for impeding traffic and improper left turn. Also my at faultedness has been found to be about 50% since he decided to come to a stop in a traffic lane instead of using the turn lane. His excuse (professional he is) was that he didn't even know there was a center turn lane. Since this was a center turn lane there was no curb. Think 5 lanes. Plus its not a loss. I got out of a lame ass teenager car into a real car again, so bonus. Gotta love insurance. kthx
42 years old and I'm suddenly a teenager again? Loving it!
