Angry mysterious ownage !!

so driving to work today passing by the school near my when a hear a load BANG!... when i got to work i checked it out and i notice a huge gash in my front passenger fender combined with small dent in the corner and several 1-2inch long scratches..

when i was driving i figured something kicked up at me some how but i was the only car on the road and if my front tire kicked something i would have hit my door.. so the cause is still unknown..

so as you probably figured im looking for a new PASSENGER FENDER so if you have one for sale or even to donate to a fellow FIT owner just pm me that would be great lol ill be posting a wtb on the classifieds thread also.

Did you report it to the police? What might cause multiple dents, rips, tears, punctures, dings at the same time?

Shotgun?

At an angle?

Don't you think the police might want to know about shotguns aimed at vehicles near schools? Because I can't think of anything else that might do that to a car. Stones don't generally tear through sheet metal at street speeds.

Secondly, shouldn't your insurance cover that?

That is crazy.
Could have been a piece of metal on the road that someone kicked up.

When I worked at a tire shop, someone came in with a piece of a leafspring through not only their tire, but the wheel!
Crazy stuff can happen.

OP said they were the only person on the road.

It would have to be something thrown or fired. Front wheels aren't going to throw up an object at that angle at a low speed.

Can we get a farther away picture to see the entire side of the car?

It's the spot right up at the pillar and hood corner, right? Up near the windshield?

Here is the passenger side of another SSM GD:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...html#post64587

So is the gouge kind of angled up on the pillar? Because THAT would be bizarre.

It is hard to believe how much damage there was but that you did not really notice the hit. Gun with silencer! I watch too much TV. Hope you can get it fixed or find a replacement - don't drive near that school any
more!

It's obviously some kind of conspiracy involving spies, aliens, and manhole covers. And the government (ours, or anyone's), the military, secret weapons, and possibly one of the Big 3. Don't forget about the bully from second grade that has carried a grudge this long.

haha gun theory is doubtful but i would put pass that some stupid highschool kid might have threw something at my car.. that sounds more probable

Do people usually have extra fenders? I didn't get any extra fenders with my purchase. Was I ripped off by the dealership?

Here's an online salvage search:
http://www.partshotlines.com

I didn't find any fenders, but there ARE GD Fit parts. Like wheels and the spoiler. Some of the salvage yards have toll-free numbers, so you can always call a place that seems to have a lot of Fit parts to check in person.

Prices are really good. One of the alloy prices was $88 a wheel. That's good.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any 09 option at all. So that the folks who have had their wheels stolen can't just pick up a new set via salvage. But GD people can!
