titanium is designed to handle the heat. that is why they add it to 321 stainless steel so it can specifically handle high heat tolerances.

the cast casing of the turbo would melt off before the titanium would even feel the pressure. at least that has been my experience when trying to maximize diesel engines where EGTs are easily into the 1300-1400F.

i really think the quality of craftsmanship in j's racing products has been on the decline for the past few years. i know that i am not going to spend any more money over there. when you pay a premium price, you expect a premium part. not something that fails within 3000 miles.

Wow just saw this. Surprises me that it was crafted poorly, especially when you pay for premium parts.

I always preach you pay for what you get, but i guess for kelso it didn't hold true.

But I have to agree with Chris its cause your a Spoon Whore. The Spoon parts ganged up on that lonely J's part and beat it up.

oh i got an update!! i got my shit welded back together. the welder was super cool. he only charged me 50 bucks and the welds are god damn beautiful. he said that most likely the rubber mounts were too flimsy and it let the pipe flex more than it should have. its funny tho because j's sells stiffer hanger mounts too. haha

well thats good you where able to get it all welded back together. im still very surprised that we spend all this money on top dollar parts like J's and Spoon then they still have parts fail like a cheap ebay part.

Glad you got it fixed. Race part break and while they maybe should not, i remember when I wrenched for an MX pro you always keep spares. We just never know when stuff breaks because they just change it. I don't think you can test/R&D for everything. Kind of like Honda's thye are great cars but it is still a man made piece of equipment.

Not trying to back J's stuff, it kind of goes for any car parts.

nah man, dont get me wrong. i still think j's parts are sexy as hell and well engineered. just the b pipe was poorly manufactured. i expected it to last me longer than a few thousand miles and im not the only one who has had this problem. its not a throw away part.

a few people locally have asked me about it and told me to tell them when it comes off but no one has put any money down. how much do you think i should charge for it. i mean considering it has the hks bov, all AN fittings for the oil, samco couplers, 9psi spring and everything is powdercoated.

ugh, i havent even gotten the engine yet. ive been just saving up all my money so when its time to buy everything, i can do most of the work in one shot. tearing down the engine and rebuilding will take probably about a month if im lucky. getting the parts here will probably take three. grrr

oooh a double r. what year?

its an 04. got it stock and first things first was yoshi full titanium exhaust, custom ported head, fully balanced and lightened internals, pcIII tuner, custom billet aluminum velocity stacks, motul fluids all over, goodridge brake lines.

i took it for a test ride. bought it. got it home. put it on the stands and tore it down.

got it dynoed and im laying down 115hp at the rear wheels.

more wheel hp than the fit though on only 341lbs.

all that is way cheaper than any fit upgrade and makes the landscape travel by unforgivably fast.

haha damn! you are going all out! dont forget a shorter drive sprocket. that is the best mod you can do for free acceleration. and remember to know when to say when. its easy to get carried away with a bike build then realize that your bike is only suited for the track. has happened to me twice hahaha.

and wear your leathers and rubber side down!!!
