HKS Filter Question/Fujita SRI - My thoughts...
A couple of months ago I bought a Fujita SRI. I liked it a little while but I felt like I was losing some torque down low. After driving a while I could tell it was really heatsoaked. Especially, because the filter sits about 2 inches from one of the main coolant tubes. Not only does it capture the heat from the engine bay but also from right near that tube. The piping gets pretty hot. It was loud and sounded great but car just didn't seem like itself. I even did the idle re-learn after I installed it and it ran better but reverted back to jumpy throttle. I installed my original intake back in today and I noticed immediately the better drivabilty around town and def. up hills. Just feels better. I also figured since the Fujita doesn't make power until 4K RPM, what's the sense of even having it in. Am I constantly going to be revving at 5-7K? No. So, I took it out.
Anyway, the real question is, is I wanted to ask was if if anyone had experience with the HKS Super Hybrid Drop In?
Thanks

i haven't had experience with it but i debated months over getting the HKS drop in or the t1r intake based on multiple writeups. i ended up with the latter.
tl;dr the HKS has a staggeringly high air flow rate but sacrifices filtration for it.

I ordered an AFE Pro-Dry (no oil, yay!) drop-in filter last week. Should be in Monday or Tuesday. I hope it compliments my SHG_Mike modified intake, and I also hope it doesn't let too much crap through!
