Unhappy Wow! for real?

my current car year is early 90's so my insurance (every 6 months) is only bout 350-400. I'm wanting to get a new car and thought about getting the fit...then i got a quote from my insurance company saying price for insurance on a 08 was 700ish for full coverage. damn!

Yeah, seems about right. How old are you? I'm 23 and my insurance with Geico (the cheapest I've found) is $563/6 months. New cars are always expensive.

i have Farmers, and after i watched some "new car good driver" video and gave them my grades for good student discount, my rate was literally cut in half. see if your insurance company has these discounts available for you. might save you a few hundred :-)

23 yr, no credit history and I had started at just a tick over a thousand a year. It hasn't gone down either, hmm.

I have Progressive and pay 600 every six months for full coverage on both the 07 Fit and the 08 CR-V. I also have my homeowners through them, so that helps. I just turned 29. I was paying what you guys are paying when I was in my early 20's for a 4 yr old EK.

Once you turn 25 it will drop, it drops a little in some states when you get married, and once you buy a house, you put your homeowners on your policy and get a discount.

Exactly... I find that turning 40 with a wife and kids and a mortgage helps. Full coverage on the Fit and the Taurus, minimal coverage on the Ranger; our payment is $90.42/month

This is true. I'm 23 and when i called my father's insurance company they quoted me a ridiculous price but then advised me to wait till 25 to save a couple hundred and told me about the other discounts mentioned above. Call around i guess?
