Love my Fit, but finally found my true love...
UK Mk VI Golf GTD pricing announced. Quick, clean fun starts at £21,850
If it does come in at $22.5k for the 5 door...it's mine!

Yeah it doesn't really stand out that much to me, it looks like one of those cars that blends in too much
About time though somebody put out a performance diesel... well at least in this case a "sporty" diesel.

Reasons why I like it:
1. It's a hatch
2. It gets 40+ mpg (albeit on $$$ diesel, but at current gas prices I would only have to average 35 mpg to equal the Fit's mpg and cost)
3. It's relatively quick (8.1 0-60)
4. It will fit 3 carseats across the backseat
5. It has rear A/C (yeah, I have to think about the fam)
Things I don't like
1. It's a VW

I always find it amusing how the same car has a different image in different countries. Here in the UK, the Golf is seen by many as a premium hatchback, more so than a Civic or Focus. Some other here would rather pay more for a Golf even if it has plastic wheelcovers and black plastic door mirrors just to have a Golf or a VW.

Yeah, at first glance of the rear, I thought it was a Tiguan. Looks like the bottom dam came from the W12. They could've made it cleaner. From the pics I don't like it. But that's what I initially said about the Mk5 until I saw them modded. I'd love to have a TDI though. Nice choice

If its 21,000 UK/pounds how does that translate into 22,000 USD? Not that bad of a car but seems like it will be priced like all the V dubs I saw while looking for the Fit.....HIGH PRICED! Sure has changed since I bought a nice 66 Bug for $100 in 1979!

I would have never considered buying a Fit if I hadn't driven V.W. Rabbits and Pick Ups in the 1980s. I had a 73 1500 cc Rabbit with 4 speed that I did a few performance mods to and had less than $550.00 in that would stomp all over my supercharged Fit.... My 82 Rabbit diesel 5 speed got 55.7 mpg very faithfully..... My 81 diesel truck Would out pull my 302 automatic F150 with the same amount of weight on it big time.... The thing that the VWs had going for them that I miss the most is that they were much more comfortable for a person my size.
