amount of oil for Fit

Don't have the manual on hand.

I seem to recall the oil capacity as 3.8 quarts. However, I also recall a number larger than 4 quarts - perhaps with a new filter. Can someone please confirm?

Thanks

Do you know if that takes it to the "full" point of the dipstick? In other words, what happens if you use a full 4 quarts?

Thanks again

^it depends on how long you let the oil drain out of the car, like if you're going to get every single last drop. last time i used the 5qt jug and according to the measurements (i'm pretty sure the markings on the container aren't exact either), i put in 4 qts (on accident, not paying attention) and the level was just over the line so i drained out some more oil. just use 3.5qt and add more if you need to. usually 3.5 qts puts it right around the middle of the range for me. it's better to need more oil than to overfill it. draining it all over again is a pain in the ass haha.

LOL

You need the right oil filter for your car. They all have different sizes and threads.

That's what I thought, but everyone makes it seem like you just pick up any filter and go. That's why I was asking. I don't know what's so funny about that.
