I just went to a BMW CCA autocross event in San Deigo. My BMW isn't roadworthy right now, so i didn't sign up to drive. But I did have my buddy Patrick run my Fit when his valves started ticking.
The car is all stock except for higher profile tires (I like to offroad). It is a base and a manual. They weren't timing on this day (they did the competition the previous day. Today was just for fun.)
It also ended up with a duct tape racing stripe offset on the driver's side. It actually looks pretty good. And as you can see, we folded the mirrors in for extra aerodynamics.
In retrospect, we should have badged it as a 115ti (small, 1.5 liter hatchback in bimmer-speak)

it's still on. I expect it will damage the paint (the sooner the paint gets wrecked the sooner I can justify painting it plaid) so I may as well leave it on. A guy in an FC RX-7 gave me a thumbs up after seeing "FWD FTL"
No one gets "hoonda" though. It is hoon (hooligan) and honda. how hard is that?
backstory: it was a BMW CCA event, so there are guys there in expensive cars. there was a 911 Carrera4S, a 911 GT3, M5s and M3s, professionally built M3 racecars, etc. The Fit looked pretty out of place. The Bimmer folks thought "FWD FTL" was funny, but the Mini Cooper folks were offended.

 

Aiya, that duct tape makes me feel uneasy inside...
