Does anyone else have this happen?

You're driving over 50 mph and someone rolls down a rear window.... air pressure causes the ugliest noise in the world. Like your eardrums are being shaken like a subwoofer. Wondering if it's just me

it will happen in any car.....yes it happens to me in my fit and 08 accord

yeah this happens on every car. I call it "the helicopter" LOL. It can make your ear drums bleed! thats why i never open rear windows without opening the fronts. If i remember correctly it only happens when one rear window is open.

It happens in most cars if you open any window without cracking another one....But I don't notice it in the Fit. I'm not sure why. I'll try rolling down just the rear window tomorrow to see if I can hear the same effect.

It is a bad noise, like fingernails on a chalkboard.

The only time I've had it happen to me was on a windy day. Most likely, what's really happening is the wind is blowing sideways in relative to your car. It happened to me while I was driving through a curve, and by the time, the wind direction was at the same path as the car, it stopped. Then on the next curve, the noise gradually started again. It's like a squealing pig...hahaha!

its like a vacuum. ever had a car with a retractable sunroof? does the same thing

hell yea... i hate that my freekin ears pop... thats why i lock my windows when there is someone sitting in the back

happens on most vehicles, especially with open space behind the rear seats...BUT compared to all the cars I've driven it is so much worse on the GD Fit for some reason.

Yeah, most any 5 door vehicle has this problem. It's just as bad on a CR-V.

My civic sedan never did it tho. It was nice

Warning, Science Content!

You are creating a "Helmholtz Resonator", like blowing across the top of a bottle. The frequency is much lower because the interior space of a car is so much larger than a bottle's. Try opening a window on the opposite side of the car. That prevents the resonance.

Just crack the fronts an inch, it all goes away.
