buying used jazz in january = better?
Im buying a 2004 or 2005 Jazz. should I wait till 2009?
my logic is this:
2005 jazz in december 2008 = perceived as 3 yr old car
2005 jazz in january 2009 = perceived as 4 yr old car
so the market price should drop significantly by 2009. Does the real world follow this logic?

I assume that you don't live in Eugene, OR if you are buying a Jazz?
That being said, in my state we have the bane that is personal property tax. If you own a car on January 1st, you have to pay taxes on it at the end of the year. It gives you an incentive to wait until after the 1st to buy a car. You get a full year of depreciation before you have to pay taxes on it.
