I came across your posting for your clutch problem and I have only 46K on my car and it seems to be having the same problem. What was the end result of your problem. It seems crazy that my clutch would even be going out at 46k.

I don't really know what happened other then the clutch gave out. They said they replaced it because of the low miles and this is my fourth honda. Good Customer service is what they kept saying.
I think there is more to the story that I will never know.

I tried searching around, but haven't seen this specific problem.
I have a 2008 Fit Sport, Manual trans. Just over 6k miles.
In the last couple weeks, the car has developed a problem where if I push the gas pedal down more than 50% of the way or so, on any gear, the engine revs shoot straight up to the redline and the power doesn't get to the wheels. It's extremely annoying. I thought it might have something to do with the weather getting colder or the car needing an oil change, but i've ruled those both out and this problem is very strange.
I have Honda Care and it's obviously under warranty, but I thought i'd check and see if anyone knows what could be causing this before I take it in since the dealer is quite a ways away.

I vote for low pressure for clutch to plate. This could be due to couple of faults - poor adjustment of clutch or poor pressure springs, either of which are Honda part failure.
There isn't enough pressure on the clutch to hold at high rpm. That the problem wasn't there originally would say weak spring(s). In any case its Honda's responsibility period. Unless you've drag racing in any venue.

Sorry dude it sounds like you got to take it to the dealer. Make sure this all gets reported to HONDA. Seems like there are more of us out there with this problem that I originally thought. Make sure you have copies of this posting if you think they are going to hassle you.

When the clutch on my old accord got to 250k miles this exact thing happened to me. I ended up getting rid of it for the fit because of engine trouble. But your problem sounds like a bad clutch, as ridiculous as that seems after only 6k
