Battery is weak

So, at just under 70,000 miles the battery is in need of replacement. They sure don't make 'em like they use to. I've had other cars that have gone twice that distance/time on the original battery.

Anyone been down this road yet? What's the best replacement, i.e. price & quality?

really depends on how you drive the car and how you maintain/care for
the battery.

are there any redtops available for our cars? that would be my choice.

70k is kinda average on battery replacement isnt it? My moms tC has 64k and it cranks real slow. I keep telling my parents to replace it or theyre going to be stranded somewhere.

And if I remember some people were getting dead batterys at way lower mileage than that. Warranty covered them of course.

Nothing is made the way it used to be, because most of it is made in China. But batteries respond to the conditions you use them in - so extreme conditions like heat or cold will cause a battery to lose life more quickly than it would in a temperate region. Also, city driving will affect your battery's life. I know that down here, we draw on our batteries heavily because we run the AC most of the year, have short trips in stop and go traffic, and live in 95-100 degree F heat from May to October. We usually get no warning and the battery just clonks out one day.

sounds like it's time for a nice light weight race battery. you can get those for around $100.

yeah, those are nice. buddy club also makes one for around the same price as the odyssey. king motorsports has one that is a bit cheaper, but requires modification to the battery cables.

my lawn tractor has a bigger battery than a fit, short trips are death to a battery as you use alot of its energy when starting and if you dont drive long enough the charging system cannot recover what was lost.
