2007 honda fit fuel trim lean po171 & p0039

You said that you already replaced the injectors. You have to remove the intake manifold to do this. Did you replace all the gaskets and O rings? I ask because you could have a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak will increase your fuel trims.
What is your idle speed when the car is fully warmed up? If there is a leak, it will be higher than the typical 700 rpm (with everything electrical shut off).
You can spray brake cleaner (it has to been the non-chlorinated type) all around the intake and injectors and see if the idle changes and you can also monitor the fuel trims with your scantool.
Having said the above, vacuum leaks are worse at idle so if you rev it up and the fuel trims drop, that is a good indication of a vacuum leak.
Not sure why I did not think for you to check for vacuum leaks before, but it is worthwhile checking.

I'm currently using a BlueDriver. It goes and has gone well above 20%. Looking for a shop to check my pressure, many don't have the special Honda tool. We'll see. After that, I am also assuming my fuel injectors. It was my fuel injectors last year that caused a no start condition. I'm assuming the screen is partially clogged. Are those screens replaceable?

Yes I removed the intake (had to) and replaced the gasket and O-rings. I checked for vacuum leaks just as you mentioned...spray, fuel trim dropping upon rev up (it didn't). My idle rpm is <1000, around 750. Thanks for the input. My hunch says fuel injectors, again. My plan is to check fuel pressure. Probably after that, I'm going to clean my fuel tank as best I can without removing and then clean fuel injectors (if needed). Thanks!

The screens can be removed from the injectors and cleaned.
Take a few minutes to spray some non-chlorinated brake cleaner around the intake manifold where the injectors are and wherever there is a gasket (intake manifold, throttle body where it attaches to the intake manifold. Check fuel trims with your scan tool when you do this and see if idle changes. It will cost you only a few bucks to do this yourself and will rule out vacuum leaks.
You did not mention what your idle speed is.
Sad that many shops do not have the equipment to test the fuel pressure for the Fit and other Hondas. How many are on the road?

Not sure why the Honda fuel injectors are outrageously expensive. I had a look at Rockauto (I have ordered lots of parts from them with good luck) and I would have recommended the ones from Beck Arnley or Standard, but both are out of stock. And from doing more searching, the Standard ones are still quite pricey. I saw a fairly inexpensive set of Honda remanufactured injectors on ebay, but that can be a crap shoot.
Any way you could get some from a Fit in a wrecking yard?
Sorry that I can not be of more help.
BTW, did you ever get the fuel pressure tested?

Thanks Mike. I saw the Ebay ones. There is a 60 day return and a supposed lifetime warranty on the 4 I'm watching. No, I actually could not find a non dealer who could the fuel pressure test. Made many calls. I did install fuel pump module (with filter) with no change in symptom and that is why i am going with injectors. Is there utility in testing fuel pressure with a new fuel pump assy? I'll use dealer if needed.

If the fuel pressure regulator is good in the new fuel pump assembly, then I can see nothing else causing a problem other than the injectors and therefore no need to check the fuel pressure. I think that I mentioned before that each injector should have a very fine removable screen (I know that the injectors on my Civic do and are removable) such that when you remove the old injectors, you might want to check these screens to see if they have crud in them. They are obviously there to prevent solids for plugging up the pintle mechanism in the injector and if removable, you should be able to clean them.

I have included a diagram of the injector from the factory service manual. You can see the top of the injector where there is a cross like feature (looks like a Phillips screw). That is the screen and should be removable.

Thanks Mike! That's what I was thinking, unless a dealer level diagnostic can show other malfunctions that can cause my symptoms that i cannot diagnose. I wonder if I can purchase these filters? Does your diagram source provide a part #? Appreciate your feedback, you are very helpful and patient.

You cannot get the filters from Honda but there appears to be numerous places that sell them. I have included a link from ebay.
The injector is shared with the 2008-2013 Fit and the 2006-2011 Civic. So best chance is to search for the micro filter for the Civic of these years.

I googled 2008 Honda Civic micro filter basket. Once again, from ebay.

I replaced all fuel injectors and now instead of running lean (-25%) I am running rich (25-28%). No more hesitation however, or stalling. Gas mileage is a little lower but not bad, around 30 mpg average (city/highway).
