AC compressor doesn't spin when car is off: Clutch or Compressor?
I've done some research on this but I can't find a clear answer to my question/situation.
I've determined that the AC compressor does not spin AT ALL, even when the vehicle is turned off. I removed the belt and could spin all pulleys except for the AC.
Can I conclude that the AC compressor itself is seized up? Or is it possible that the clutch is somehow stuck and preventing the compressor pulley from spinning?
If it's the clutch, i'll replace it. If it's the compressor, I think I'll just buy a smaller belt and bypass the compressor entirely. it's not worth the fix and I don't use the AC much anyway.
Thanks in advance
