Smile 2007 honda fit sport p0302 misfire #2

Hi,

I could use some help please. My problem started with the P302 cylinder misfire. I limped home 11 miles. While running my engine at home to trouble shoot, performance deteriorated significantly to the point where now the engine cranks but does not start. I also believe my catalytic converter might have been damaged because I ran the engine with a cyl 2 misfire and thought that this might be causing the CRANK BUT NO START condition. I changed my plugs and coils 20K miles ago but changed them again because the coils came apart when I tried to remove them (aftermarket) to check them and the plugs. I used Hitachi coils and NGK plugs this time. All plugs looked healthy, no oil etc. I checked spark, & it was Okay. I performed valve lash adjustment (some valves were out of spec). Fuel pump energizes and I have fuel at the quick disconnect fitting which leads to fuel rail. I did not test actual fuel pressure however as I do not have the Honda adapter and gauge set up. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake to see what would happen and vehicle started as long as I maintained the spray. So, I’m a little confused now and not sure what to do next. Thank you for any help in advance!

Does the fuel pump makes audible noise for 2 seconds when you turning your key to start?
have you inspect fuel pump connector (under metal cover, as it seems to melt on some cars).

Yes. Pump is on for 2 seconds and I can hear it for about a second or two after ignition is off. I do have some fuel at the fuel pressure test site behind the fire wall. I am suspecting I have some restriction in my fuel line and more than likely it is my fuel filter (in my pump!) Is this a replaceable part? Oh, and I know about the fuel pump connectors, this is my second pump
