08 Fit MT Engine Mounts Torn
Just got my car back from the mechanic and the front and rear engine mounts are torn and they said they need to be replaced. The side (passenger) engine mount also looks like it needs to be replaced as well. I bought some OEM Honda mounts but am afraid they will tear in 5 years. Also, saw Innovative had some engine mounts that looked more durable.
Do I need to replace these mounts? What will happen if I don't?
Anyone have any experiences with replacing the engine mounts with OEM, good or bad?
Anyone have any experiences with using Innovative or a different brand?
Thank you kindly

Should definitely replace them as they are a wear item, you'll notice increased cabin vibrations, drivetrain/driveline vibrations. Excess vibrations in these parts can also have increased tire wear and all around cause more wear in on associated bushings.

Well if the originals lasted 12 years, I think you'll be ok for some time. On my '04, only the side transmission mount was bad, others had some signs of wear but not too bad. I also just got a $15 aftermarket replacement, if it lasts a couple of years, that's more than sufficient.
I know some Honda nerds also coat the mounts with some silicone or other sealant but I've no idea if it does anything besides hide any issue.

I had the two bolts on the top passenger side break on mine. Engine dropped and busted the timing chain cover. Car was at dealer for three weeks and would have been longer if I didn't start to yell. From my experience, if I could avoid it from breaking, I'd get it fixed first.
