The struggle is real
My beautiful first gen fit, how i love her! I just don't like her stereo... Went ahead and purchased a new stereo and what i thought I'd need, went through the trouble of removing the factory radio before realizing that the single harness i purchased was not all that i needed... How many harnesses do i need? I can handle mechanical stuff in my car, but i get lost in the electrical stuff. How many wire harnesses do i need, where can I buy them? Am I missing anything else I need to change the stereo out? I feel completely clueless!!

Weird, my radio had a single harness (and an empty socket for aux in):
Basically what you'd need as an adapter from Honda's harness to the (probably) ISO connector on your new stereo. You can usually get them from the same stereo store or amazon or ebay.
What exactly did you get? Does it not let you plug in the harness into the new radio? Worst case you could probably just splice together what you already have, but if you get lost in electrical stuff that might not be the best option

well my dad helped me assemble one of these bad boys and it worked perfectly. It was what we needed. Then i dove in and realized i also needed an antenna adapter so got one of those as well. There were like three other plug ins that i had no idea what they did! If it helps at all, it's the 2007 sport model (manual) and it does not have steering wheel controls so there wouldn't be a plug in for that. I'll dive back in today and try to snap some photos of what i found.
