turbo in a first gen?
hey! i’m an owner of a 2008 honda fit. it’s a 1.5 with a manual transmission( i’ll drop some car pics later). i’ve been trying to prove to people that the fit ISNT a bitchy car and currently trying to push the limits of the car. mind you, this is my first car, i’m new to the community, etc. i’ve already purchased a cold air intake (surprising, right), a performance chip, and a cherry bomb exhaust. my main point is, i’m willing to put money in this car to prove my point. with that being said, has anyone turbo charged their first gen fit? is it even possible? like i said previously, i’m new to all of this so i apologize if i sound uneducated lol. just let me know

You bought a 90hp car and are trying to "prove" to other people its fast?. Your modifications so far have only increased the noise your car produces and lightened your wallet. Sure, you can turbo it. Still won't be fast though. Spend less time and money trying to prove yourself/your car to other people and just enjoy the car for what it is (for a while, since its your first car).

I find this car more capable as an autox/cornering car than anything. Get a progress rear sway bar, frame braces, swift springs, negative camber roll center adjusters, and a short shifter. With all that you'll probably be spending around the cost of turbo-ing but end up with a car thats far more capable than a lot of other 100hp+ more on the autox. Hell you can honestly just get a progress rsb and stay in the stock SCCA class and get really good times. turbo sounds are cool and all but IMO it's even cooler to out perform or even just perform the same as $10k cars on the track

Turbo should be possible, I when I did some research there were some kits available, and you can of course also DIY something. I'd second what everyone is saying, try to push your limits as a driver first (on a track of course), then improve handling, then power. I've driven a Miata for years and it's still on stock power because it's plenty to get in trouble and my skills are still the biggest limit.

Aren't the 1.5l like 115 hp? Meanwhile I'm here stuck with 89 lol.

Turbos are definitely possible, even on an automatic. Kits are pretty much hard to find but it's definitely simple to piece together referencing the countless builds posted on here. Really any local shop that specializes in Honda tuning can also do it but it'd definitely be pricey

If you're looking to push the car to its limits, I suggest doing a kswap which would be much easier than trying to find a turbo kit and building one from scratch. If you get the chance to find a turbo kit there's t1r, greddy, hks. There's also supercharger kit by kraftwerks which is discontinued already and much harder to find.
You got options.
