Weapon R Header/Exhaust Manifold Replacement
Hi everyone,
I often look on here for what folks have done to their 07-08 Honda Fits... I figured I'd finally post something.
I replaced the stock Exhaust Manifold with a Weapon R Header on my '08 Honda Fit Sport (manual) today. This particular one allows you to keep the catalytic converter, so no issues there. Doing the replacement was quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. I had the whole car up on jack stands giving me plenty of room to get under it. In terms of difference.. It gave what I'd call mid-range power gains on neighborhood streets and I felt like it was a little more responsive when I accelerated. I haven't taken it on the highway yet. I attached a few pictures of the Weapon R Header Before, During, and After.
A couple weeks ago I also upgraded to an N1 Cat-Back Exhaust by Invidia. In terms of power gains there, I do feel that accelerating from 70mph to 90mph in 5th gear has improved noticeable.
Probably two years ago, I upgraded to Injen's SP Cold Air Intake system. I'm really impressed with this, notably by the level of detailed instructions they provide to do the upgrade. Between all three of theses upgrades to the air flowing through the whole car, I'm pretty satisfied with the results.

This is the thread I created to share my work in progress, going to what you did on your GD, I am looking into that as well, I have the cat back already and I am looking to replace the rest but making sure it stays road legal at least for now 😉

The cold air intake should be no issue. I did call CarId before I got the headers. They said so long as the catalytic converter isn't removed (which it isn't) then it's all good - granted they have all these warnings on their site to indemnify them anyway.

Looks great! I agree about the ease of working on these cars. The hardest part about the header install is that the top studs pulled out of the head instead of the nuts coming off on my car.
I have a similar set up....DC Sports header, Megan downpipe, AEM cold air intake, and the HFP axle back.
Also have 310cc injectors, R18 throttle body, Hondata, and a Cat Cams camshaft. Hoping to get it dyno tuned next month, but it runs decent so far.

Hi,
Just curious, how are the 310cc injectors, R18 throttle body, Hondata, and a Cat Cams camshaft working out? What do you feel like would be the next investment if you had to pick one?
Thanks,
Ryan

My next will be boost, but for anyone that doesn't have a Hondata yet, that is the single most important modification. The car will not make more than a few HP more than stock without the ability to change the ECU. The Hondata is the single most important item.

Hi! Thanks for feedback. I was hoping you could write back about your experience with it. I had a couple questions...
One other thing, did you get a Dyno tune yet? I'm definitely curious how that turns out... I've looked around the Baltimore area and haven't yet found a place. Also, when they "tune" you on the Dyno, are you able to "save" that tune in the Hondata program?
Thanks!
- I saw you have an '08 Fit Sport Manual.. What does SSM stand for?
- Which tune (aka "map"?) did you choose for your Fit? It sounds like you've done a lot already
- How much power gain do you think you've got, just from the Hondata map you picked?
- I watched this video:
- On their website, https://www.hondata.com/products/flashpro&filter=10, I saw they have two different versions the FlashPro Kit ($695) and the FlashPro Kit CARB ($495). Which one did you get?

2. Running the 310cc injector tune
3. Not sure on power and haven't dyno'd it yet. I will say that the tune got it running really well given the fact it's just a base map available with the tuner. No driveability problems and pulls hard for something with tiny power. You will want to find a local tuner if you want to get it running with all power available.
4. Yes, using a laptop and monitoring parameters.
5. You want the non-CARB kit so you can access all engine parameters and access all sensors.
