2007 Fit Sport, Side Mirror Help
Hi FitFreaks!
My partner snapped the passenger side mirror off of her 2007 Fit Sport, and I'm trying to help her fix it. In looking at replacement mirrors online, they don't seem to come with the mounting bracket we need to attach the mirror. Here's an (ugly!) picture of her car covered in ash from local fires:
You can see in the picture that the plastic base the mirror bolts to has sheared in half, with half of it still in the door, and half of it still attached to the bolts on the mirror. Is it possible to get a replacement part for this, or do we need a new door?
I was looking at replacement mirrors, and saw this 2nd Generation replacement mirror seems to come with the plastic part I think I need (although I realize it's the wrong year):
Anyway, sorry for the confusing language; I'm not actually sure what any of these parts are called!
Thanks for your time,
Scott

Take off the inner door liner and peel back the plastic so you can see what's actually going on. You'll need to remove the door liner anyways to replace the mirror so you might as well. It's very unlikely that the door itself is broken- mirrors are designed to break away without damaging the vehicle itself.

You’ll have to replace the base and mirror as they come together. Do you have any local jackyards around? Like the previous person said, you’ll have to remove the inner door panel. There are 3 10mm bolts that secure the mirror to the door and a long wire harness that you’ll need to disconnect. In all you need:
-10mm socket
-ratchet
-2 or 3 inch extension
-phillips screwdriver (#2 size works best but other sizes will work as well).
These cars come apart pretty easily. Once you find a mirror, shouldn’t take more than 15min - 30min to replace.
